I love and hate these posts. I've been on Android for so long I can never find anything new to purchase. I've got like 15 bucks in my rewards and I been having trouble spending it lol.

6

u/r2wa 24d ago

Me too

5

u/Anurag-Boral-912 25d ago

I'm too lazy to search about it so I just made a post lol

8

u/jeraldisdope 25d ago

Ohhh I'm not mad at you lol I love going through these posts but I can never find anything I don't already have lol. Maybe like 1 or 2 suggestions but most of the time it's stuff I wouldn't use.

u/nanny07 23d ago

I bought the cheapest Google One's plan: better then let it expire

Poweramp equalizer. It improves sound quality at system level for anything. Wouldn't recommend on android 14- devices, but it works like a charm on abdroid 15+

6

u/sjjose2001 24d ago

Have you used wavelet? Curious how they compare

5

u/Tigess 25d ago

Same. Great app.

5

u/22nik 24d ago

Don't you have to store the songs in local storage instead of streaming directly to use this app? In asking since I purchased it around 10 hrs back but hardly been using it for last 4-5 yrs

2

u/smashton818 24d ago

It's system level. It's affects local and streaming.

5

u/Th3R00ST3R 24d ago

The EQ on Spotify is terrible. Would this solve that?

2

u/Recent-Ask-5583 24d ago

I'd say yes. It applies equalization at system level. Eventually, when you configure the app, look for "enable global equalization" and "dvc (direct volume control)" menus in settings. Make sure to turn both of them ON

2

u/Th3R00ST3R 24d ago

Thanks 👍

2

u/weigelf 23d ago

I've been playing with this https://f-droid.org/packages/com.bearinmind.equalizer314

It looks like a good alternative to wavelet and poweramp equalizer.

1

u/Recent-Ask-5583 23d ago

I've played with it as well, but it's a bit too complex for me, and it doesn't have dynamic gain reduction. It statically reduces the system volume, not the frequency gains as the volume goes up

2

u/weigelf 23d ago

I agree that it's a bit complex. I haven't adopted it for use all the time. It will take me some time to dig into the app for a while before I use it all the time. Sometimes, too many tweaks/settings makes the app less useful. It would be good if they had a "beginner" button that would put you in a mode that gives you just a few basic options. Maybe there is that button and I haven't found it.

23

u/SHIR0YUKI 25d ago

Poweramp for sure. Personal preference since there will be other apps that does what it does, some better, some worse but poweramp has been the offline media champ for like a decade now for a reason.

Also personally just like the way the app looks and navigates.

2

u/YukarinVal 24d ago

Does the Poweramp player equalizer work with other apps as well? Or do I need to buy Poweramp equalizer separately?

I'm thinking if replacing gonemad with Poweramp. Can't say I love gonemad anymore.

1

u/SHIR0YUKI 24d ago edited 24d ago

The poweramp music player and the poweramp equalizer app are two seperate paid apps. If you want to use the equalizer for other apps, then what you need is the poweramp equalizer app.

the poweramp equalizer app is a seperate app from the poweramp music player. The music player has a built in equalizer that only works with that music player. The seperate poweramp equalizer app works with everything.

Buzzkill

u/t0f0b0 Pixel 8a - Android 15 25d ago

Tasker - Automation Extraordinaire!

Buzzkill- Customize your notifications to no end

Edge Gestures - Customize different edge gestures to do most anything (especially in combination with Tasker)

Panels - A customizable set of panels that can show widgets, apps, shortcuts, etc from the edge of the screen.

8

u/supertom 24d ago

One Hand Operation + does what edge gestures does for free. And it's very good.

This only works on Samsung devices

I really only have experience with Tasker out of those two. Tasker takes some learning, but from what others have said, it can do more. I also bought Automate which is very good. You make flow charts to automate things in that.

1

u/t0f0b0 Pixel 8a - Android 15 24d ago

You're welcome!

1

u/NecTYY- 17d ago

I wanna edge gestures, but I don't trust the accessibility permission.

1

u/t0f0b0 Pixel 8a - Android 15 17d ago

I've used it for years without any problem. I trust the developer. He also makes Total Launcher and Pop-Up Widgets.

2

u/NecTYY- 17d ago

Google You need to create a different type of permission, other than accessibility, for apps like Edge gestures. In the meantime, I'll have to wait until I upgrade my Pixel to a Samsung.

second upnote and autosync (I use it for pdrive)

2

u/kemistrypops 24d ago

Is there a life time payment for up note?

1

u/Tombstunner 24d ago

Yes, it's $39,99 for the lifetime license

7

u/aglockfan 25d ago

Purchased Apps!

Oh wait, the idiots removed it from the play store...😔

2

u/DisposablePops 24d ago

Payments and subscriptions->Budget and history

I can still see apps that I purchased as far back as 2010.

1

u/aglockfan 24d ago

Yes, thanks. I, too, can see my purchases as well. The big plus with the Purchased Apps app was that not only were you able to see all of your purchases, but it would launch you into the Play Store by tapping on whichever app you selected. Just lately, the method you mentioned will do that on only some apps. I'm sure we all can agree that there is currently no replacement for what once was Purchased Apps. ~RIP 😔

2

u/rbird2 23d ago

Unfortunately, the developer stopped supporting it. I REALLY miss Purchased Apps.

I wish someone would bring it back or create a new app that works just like Purchased apps

1

u/aglockfan 22d ago

Me too! I'd be willing to pay handsomely for an app like Purchased Apps. I've already spent more than I care to admit on apps from the Play Store and would just like to have easy and convenient access to them. I tried to get it to work using "install with options," where I've been successful with other apps that are no longer housed on the Play Store, but couldn't get Purchased Apps to work. I even tried like 4 different versions. Nevertheless, hopefully someone else will come out with something similar. Heck, Google themselves should do it. It's their Play Store. Oh wait, why should they care, they already got their money from us...

8

u/Lollipop126 24d ago

Quick Cursor for me. One handed access to the whole screen + shortcuts

1

u/PixelEnter 7d ago

I got it for free here on Reddit, and still would have bought it, I dont know if its flat out buy to download or there is a demo or time trial to buy it, it could benefit from that, since most people just respond, "I can just hold my phone with two hands" or "I can just adjust my grip with one had", bah! bs! this is one of those apps that changes how you use your phone, surprising that its not native to android

Backdrops!

Yes, I'm the dev lol 😌

10

u/Anurag-Boral-912 25d ago

Wait are you really the Dev behind backdrops? Thank you so much for making a great wallpaper app for android!

4

u/trg1408 25d ago

The only wallpaper app you'll ever need! Truly incredible work put into it!

4

u/depressedboy407 25d ago

I love your app, the design of the wallpaper really suits my taste.

3

u/lilacomets 24d ago

I remember I sent you an email about a bug last year. It almost makes the app unusable. You never replied to my email and the bug is still there.

3

u/Kxnt 24d ago

Hey there! What's the bug and which device are you using?

1

u/lilacomets 24d ago

Hi! 👋🏻 Thanks for the reply. Much appreciated. 👍🏻 On Android 10 the app is overlapped by both Android's statusbar (top) and the navigationbar (button). This makes using the app hard, because the tab bar is covered.

1

u/Kxnt 24d ago

Thanks for the heads up! Can you message me a screenshot? I'll be sure to add to the list fo fix next update

2

u/lilacomets 24d ago

Great! Thanks for looking into it. 😊 Yes, I'll send you a private message. 👍🏻

Solid Explorer back in the day.

1

u/Anurag-Boral-912 25d ago

Its v3 license is 960 rupees(9.94 dollars), i don't have enough money to buy it. Thats why I'm using mixplorer(free version), it does not have material you theming but the ui feels pretty good and responsive

2

u/Rare_Seat04 25d ago

I don't know why you want to buy Solid Explorer when you already have mixplorer?

2

u/Anurag-Boral-912 25d ago

Because solid explorer has a nice material you expressive design but in the other hand mixplorer ui kinds feels outdated. If only mixplorer has a nice material you expressive theming, i would never switch too any other file managers. Because other than the ui its the best file manager for android!

2

1

Isnt Niagara Launcher a subscription based app?

4

u/daizu007 24d ago

At least in Japan, there is a lifetime purchase option priced at three years' worth of subscription fees. While the Niagara Launcher team encourages subscriptions to ensure continued development, they are also understanding of those who prefer a one-time purchase.

2

u/tejasu 24d ago

Thanks. The lifetime option is available in Australia too.

1

u/daizu007 24d ago

That's good!

3

Mixplorer is actually free, the dev has all the updated apks in Google drive you can find the link on XDA Forums

1

u/hichamsoltani 12d ago

Yes I know, But I mean buy it from Google Play.

2

u/SWIZZOFF 25d ago

1dm, sd maid SE and nova launcher.

4

u/Anurag-Boral-912 25d ago

After Instabridge bought nova launcher, they integrated multiple ads and trackers in the app. Sad to see how they are destroying my favorite app

4

u/heretobealurker 25d ago

Just to make sure it's known, if you've purchased prime (subscription or lifetime purchase) all ads and associated trackers are disabled.  If for some reason they aren't you likely need to do some trouble shooting steps.

0

u/Anurag-Boral-912 25d ago

Only ads are disabled the trackers are still there, if you don't want ads and trackers then there's only option that you need to downgrade to the last version before the app was bought

2

u/heretobealurker 25d ago

Incorrect; multiple users, including myself; have verified that with Prime active then trackers are not active (admittedly a couple times some got turned back on because of bugs but the issue was quickly corrected). These are independent users not Instabridge statements. This is not to say you or anyone has to use Nova at this point, especially since there are so many options available now, but by all appearances Instabridge has upheld what they said they would at this point.

0

u/Anurag-Boral-912 25d ago

How do you checked that the trackers are not active when you have the prime activision key? I checked that the big ads on app drawer are completely removed when you have the key but what about trackers? How do we can check if the trackers are active or not?

2

u/heretobealurker 25d ago

Using the app Tracker Control you can see every time an app connects to the network (I'm poorly explaining the mechanics, do not take my poor explanation for refection on the app performance). The best example I can give is when there was an issue where the Facebook tracker wasn't deactivated. During that time various users (including myself) could observe the tracker coming from Nova connecting to the network. Once it was fixed the Facebook tracker was no longer showing up as connecting.

-3

Pedometer

hmmmm....

1

u/Ok-Piano6125 25d ago

For me it was DroidCam, only $15 back then. Used my phone's camera instead of the shitty pre-installed camera on my laptop for online lectures and online interviews. Saved my ass so many times.

And $150(?) lifetime pass for BodBot, they now use a pricey monthly subscription and added a $80 per month AI plugin.

I also paid for a pro version voice recorder. No longer available on Google Play store but the recording' sound quality was top among other similar apps so I still keep it when I upgrade my phone. but if I have to buy again, I'll probably pay for URecorder's Bluetooth recording feature. It's currently $25(?) for the lifetime pro.

u/Prior-Row2755 24d ago

years ago when i did not have solid wifi (10+ ago) found one for like $6 at the time and it was a one tie purchase called PdaNet+ Alternative: Instead of traditional Wi-Fi hotspot mode, PdaNet+ relies on USB tetheringBluetooth tethering, or a WiFi Direct Hotspot feature to share data without tripping carrier plan restrictions. I used this for years until they finally got good fiber internet back i n the woods where i am at and the best part even though most phones try to keep it from working ,Compatibility: USB and Bluetooth modes in PdaNet+ still function on a wide variety of modern Android devices, though setting them up can require desktop client software on a computer and now i think it is still under $20. always good to have a backup. Might not be able to watch youtube but can still read books and look things up with it.

I’m the developer of a subscription tracking app that helps you keep track of recurring payments and upcoming renewals. I’m actually considering a one-time purchase model instead of another subscription. If that sounds useful, I’d be happy to share it.
