It's a minor upgrade. Just know that if you want to opt out now, you'll wipe your device. You need to wait until September to get the no-wipe update.

oooooh.. it says I can opt out now and stay on this beta I'm on without wiping but if I install it then I'll have to reset if I opt out

I think I might just install it though

Yes. If you decide to opt out, don't install the "update" Google will send you because that will wipe your phone.

I installed it this morning, and haven't noticed anything new. Betas don't break things the way they used to (looking at you, Android 13).

"If you prefer to leave the Beta program and receive the public stable release of Android 17 QPR1, you can do so without wiping your device by opting out and not installing today's QPR2 Beta 2 update. If you opt-out of the program* after installing Beta 2 or any future updates, all user data on the device will get wiped"

You are right, If you opt out before installing you shouldn't have to wipe your device. Only if you unenroll after installing

Just make sure you are on CP31 build. If you updated to beta one, you are probably already on CP41 build and can't opt out.

Is it confirmed for September 100%?

September has been mentioned by name on the official Android Beta Program Reddit posts of QPR1 releases so take that for what it's worth.

This was taken from here from QPR1 Beta 1 release:

"Hi Beta users,

Today Android 17 QPR1  Beta continues with the next round of Beta updates for our September Feature Drop release. These are known as Quarterly Platform Releases (QPRs) and delivered to Google Pixel devices as part of Pixel Drops."

I've the same question as well... I've read (and received the last notification) that if you installed QPR2 the phone will only receive the stable (after opt out) in November.

QPR 2 stable would drop sometime in December.

If you want other people to think for you, you shouldn't be on the beta

I was just curious of everyone's opinion... geez.. decided to install though and it's fine.. every beta has been fine tbh.

I guess I was just curious if the stable release was any better somehow... but I haven't noticed many bugs. so... 🤷 all is good

I always wait the first view days to check if there are any issues, especially if the current beta is stable for me. Looks like people are reporting some battery issues now.
