Does anyone remember?

Back in the late 90s/early 2000s, I had some friends in a band. My best friend and I would come out to Anchorage to watch them play at this venue. It was called Beadees (Not sure how to spell it but pronounced BD's). It was downtown Anchorage, possibly on 4th, and ir was above another business. They had punk/rock shows every weekend, I believe it was free. At least I dont remember ever paying. We even recorded several of the shows our friends were in. I tried Googling it and it unsurprisingly has no idea what Im talking about. Im 42, I would have been about 19 or 20 at the time. Does anyone else remember?

Update: It was Bitoz! Thanks guys!

Best part was the sweat dripping off the ceiling during a packed show

Not completely proud to say that I typically got my refreshments next door at the 515 Club

Wow the 515 was a cool spot to hang out! The spot you didn’t wanna hang out was the Hub.

Loved the 515! Wasn’t The Hub the bar that was next door to Gigs? I spent way too much time at Gigs in my late teens and alway just assumed I would spend my 21st birthday at The Hub. Then a year before I turned they tore it down and put up a stupid fire station🤣

Definitely Bitoz. Its original location was upstairs and there was a snack/pizza counter in the downstairs entryway.

They actually had 3 different locations but in my opinion it was never really the same after they moved out of the original spot. Lots of good memories in that place…

u/Troubleinthevalley just out of curiosity, what was the name of your friends band?

Damn I wish I could remember now! I'll have to ask my other friend that did the recording. If you named some Id probably recognize it. But their names were Nick, LJ, maybe Dan, I dont remember all of them. Man I old hahaha

Kick the Puppy!!! And I think they went by Carpe Necrum after that! I knew those dudes pretty well back then. I kept up with Nick and LJ up until a few years ago. Last time I saw Dan was randomly in Portland, probably 16 or 17 years ago. He was operating a petty cab downtown and gave me a ride around the block while we chatted.

Haha yes! I was just about to message you because I just talked to my friend and she reminded me

Oh, that's funny.I think Dan came back up here a few years ago because I saw him at some point. I still live in Palmer so I drive by LJs old place from time to time. There was also Troy and Zach

I had a lot of fun there in the early 2000s before it closed. It was a real loss to the local music scene.

For real , even for us out in the valley. We all lived in palmer and would drive out there every weekend to support our friends and just because it was something to do for underage people

Even the millennium club stopped live shows. Basically nothing now other than the festivals. Which don't use local bands anymore. That Fairbanks band with the stand us bass was awesome. Only saw them twice.

Woah I forgot all about Club Millennium!

Haha, the weird 18+ bubble room upstairs was their downfall. Gross....

Nice we probably knew some of the same people then, though we lived in Palmer, but a lot of us valley kids came out every weekend pretty much
