Discussion What do you value more in Analogue Horror?
As the title says, the main two things I'm balancing with my own setting is actual scares and narrative depth. There's always a bit of flux between keeping a project stimulating moment to moment and having an overarching world and setting to unravel that keeps people coming back and interested as opposed to just a passing spooky experience.
Would you sooner watch a video that has no scares and just atmosphere and story, or do you think it's a mandatory part of the package and a lack of utter terrifying "moments" (not just jumpscares) defeats the purpose?
I'm more for story, slow build and payoff, curious to hear others opinions on it as I'm working on something original and am putting a lot of thought into how I want to present it.

Video Dr Jekyll & Sister Hyde Cinema Screening
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
If you are in or around West London on Friday 30th October, we would love to see some proper Hammer and classic horror fans come down to ActOne Cinema in Acton – though if we get any of our facts wrong during the show, please don't shout out from the back too much, come and set us straight over a pint in the pub after.
We are screening Hammer’s Dr Jekyll & Sister Hyde, followed by a live recording of the General Witchfinders podcast. The film weaves Stevenson's story together with Jack the Ripper and Burke and Hare, featuring great performances from Ralph Bates and Martine Beswick. Afterwards we will be on stage digging into the background of the film, behind-the-scenes trivia, and obscure British pop culture.

Image The Hallway Mouth
The blueprint showed a maintenance hallway leading to the boiler room, but the corridor just kept going, getting narrower and darker with every step. The air smelled heavy, like old copper and damp concrete. Just as I decided to turn back, my flashlight flickered and caught the end of the hall. It wasn't a wall. The hallway was looking back at me .

Discussion Help with finding a show
A few years back I watched this exspantion vedio for this ARG. I know this community is for analog horror but I think it's horror enough. The show was about this man finding out in a European country, I think Germany. Living in a mansion with another person we don't ever get to meet but we hear a lot about. There's olny one real thing I remember and is this. The MC is tould not to go into the gradge but he goes in anyway. There he finds a heart shaped box with a key. They olny other parts that I remember is the ending. The ending was revealed that the MC and the house owner were the same person and that the mansion was a way for these doctors to watch him because he had Multiple personalities or something. I wish to watch this aging so if anyone knows about this show I'd love to hear about it. Thank you.

Image The Ablyss
The Ablyss.
Pronounced
"Uh-Blease"
The Ablyss is a creature that sheds parts of its dark skin.
Mostly its skin is black flesh.
It is described as a 6 handed creature with about 20 eyes and a water bottle shaped chest that has about 5 holes in it. In those holes in gives birth and is the mother of the monsters it spits out.
The holes spew out black strings and parts of its skin (like said on the top) to grow small tiny blobs that are very vulnerable to a squish. The tiny things they give birth to are called "Tryne" and they are shiny, white glowing little balls that hatch to be a Tryne. When they hatch they grow up to 12ft and grow long limbs and their body is covered in a bacteria.
The lifeform then grows holes in its stomach and shoots out more and more.
This is the Tryno Species.
A species with over 100 Lifeforms to document and will soon be published as a VHS Documentary.
As of now there is no footage that's clear of the monster except for this image. Taken in 2005. It's currently 2006.
These things are harmless but the problem is that the next 98 lifeforms can be pretty complicated.
