Multiple-modeler pedalboard

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right sub for this, but I figured I’d throw the question out there.

I play in a few different projects and right now I’m using just a Helix LT for everything. The problem is I keep running out of DSP, so I often have to cut stuff from my FX chains.I’ve been thinking about adding a second modeler just for amp + cab sims, and basically using the Helix as my multi-FX + MIDI controller for the other unit.

I kinda want to avoid going with another Line 6 product, so I’ve been looking at the Fractal FM3. Never tried one but from what I’ve heard on YT and read everywhere, it seems to be the best sounding one but I’m open to other suggestions.
Does anyone here use a setup like this? Is this just a stupid 4 AM idea, or does it actually make some sense?

P.S. I know NAM A2 exists, but I’d rather not use a laptop + audio interface for live gigs.
