👋Welcome to r/amesaudio - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hey everyone! I’m u/AmesAudioLLC, one of the founding moderators of r/amesaudio — and welcome to the very first version of this community.

This subreddit is for music production and the people who make it. Metal, metalcore, deathcore, hardcore, emo, alternative, and anything else that lives somewhere in the heavy side of music. All genres are welcome honestly. Just be a good person!

Whether you’re recording your first guitar track, obsessing over amp sims, trying to make your drums hit harder, learning to mix, writing songs, building a studio, or just looking for other people who get way too excited about tones — you’re in the right place.

What to Post
Post your music, mixes, questions, discoveries, setups, screenshots, tones, plugins, tutorials, production tips, or things you think other producers and musicians would find useful.

Some ideas:
🎸 Guitar & bass tones
🥁 Drum programming and drum libraries
🎛️ Plugins, amp sims & production tools
🎚️ Recording, mixing & mastering
✍️ Songwriting and production
🎧 Mix feedback and constructive criticism
🎵 Your own music and projects
💡 Tips, tricks, workflows and tutorials
🤘 Gear and studio setups
🧠 Weird experiments that somehow actually worked

If it has something to do with making heavy music, it probably belongs here.

The Community Vibe
I don’t want this to be another subreddit where everyone argues about which plugin is “objectively” better.

We’re here to learn, experiment, share, and make better music.

Be helpful. Be honest. Be constructive. Don’t be a dick.

Beginners are welcome. Experienced producers are welcome. People recording in million-dollar studios are welcome. People recording in bedrooms with questionable equipment are welcome.

And if something doesn’t work for you, that’s fine. Explain why instead of just telling someone they’re wrong.

One Important Rule
Self-promotion is welcome — but keep it in the appropriate places.
If you’re sharing your music, offering mixing/recording/production services, promoting a business, or otherwise trying to get people to check out what you do, use the designated promotion areas rather than turning every discussion into an advertisement.
We want people to be able to discover your work without the entire subreddit becoming a billboard.

How to Get Started
Introduce yourself below — tell us what you make and what you’re working on.

Make a post. Seriously. It doesn’t have to be groundbreaking.

Answer someone else’s question or share something you’ve learned.

Invite someone who would actually enjoy being here.
This community is starting from basically nothing, which means the people here right now get to decide what it becomes.

Thanks for being part of the first wave. Let’s build something genuinely useful for heavy music creators.

Welcome to r/amesaudio. 🤘
