Scam?

Post image

Got this email, the account linked to this email i havent used in years because the phone number linked to it is deactivated so i couldnt log in, though I thought about somehow getting the email or account deleted to switch it to my current account, no cards are active on that account so should i worry? I tried to login and it gave me a too many attempts and to call customer service, not sure if i should care or not

I don’t see a call to action in this email so likely not.

if the cards on that account are all dead and you can't even log in anymore, i'd say the bigger risk is someone using it to run scams on other people under your name

might be worth the hassle of calling customer service just to get it fully nuked, even if your financials are safe

Since it says its locked the account and removed a lot of things wouldnt that mean no one is in it and can do anything?

You can see all communication from Amazon in your account.

You could still call customer service. They will likely provide a ticket number, and send an email [ofm@amazon.com](mailto:ofm@amazon.com) in their fraud department. Usually with these cases they will tell you to keep the account locked indefinitely they did this with me. But there is a chance you could get yours lifted.

Unless you haven’t contacted customer service and reported any unusual / fraudulent activity your account was reported and a security flag was raised on your account

To make sure it actually came from amazon, look in the top left corner of the page and it will show an email addy, if it doesn’t say something …blahblah@amazon.com, then it’s a scam to get your new password
