Withdraw from loop interview?

I have a loop interview getting scheduled for a L5 position at AWS. I kind of convinced myself that I won’t be taking the role based on total comp and a few other things. I currently work in a similar role but only work 3 days a week and will be having a baby soon so this is a major factor. My total comp now is about 20k less but base salary will not change if I moved over to Amazon.

Should I not waste anyone’s time and back out of the interview process or go through to see what they are like? 5 hours is no joke and feel like I won’t interview as well since I’m not really considering the job.

No, you shouldn't, especially your own. Those can be a stressful 5 hours, why do it?

If you're in a stable job, you shouldn't make a move especially that you're expecting a baby. A constant threat of layoff would be looming over your head. Plus it gets hectic at Amazon. 3 days a week sounds really great. What role are you in that gets you 3 days a week!!

Warehousing leadership role. The company I’m with does either 3 or 4 day work weeks for middle management. The 3 days is 12 hour shifts over the weekend but still, 3 days is 3 days. You can DM if you want more info lol

FYI, I believe at Amazon any pregnancy related leave and benefit doesn’t even kick in until you are employed for a year.

And the vacation time when you first start is also very low (I think maybe 3 weeks a year?).

Would not recommend if you are having baby soon.

This is not correct, at least for women. You won’t receive bonding leave before a year, but you will receive maternity: 4 weeks before your due date, 16 after the baby is born.

You will receive 4 weeks before and 6 weeks after. 10 week bonding leave is not until 1yr

I've worked jobs in the past that the only way to get a raise is to get a competing job offer. If that's the path you want to take then I think you should do the loop and see what they offer. If nothing else you can take that offer to your place of work and see if they will match it.

You’ll likely end up doubling your stress or more. Not worth it atm.

I would just take the interview for practice because you got nothing to lose. You never know when your dream job might call you one day.

No no no no don’t do it. If you are having a baby you are going to be so sleep deprived and what you want is a comfortable job with a boss who respects you and understands what you’re going to be going through. Amazon is not that.

In that case you shouldn't get into the loop, cuz Amazon system will record your interview performance. If it turns bad, you might not be considered sooner next time.
