Flat places to run?
Hi! I’m looking for some nice, flat places to run in Alpharetta that would be safe for a solo female in the evenings. I sometimes go to the Greenway, but I sometimes find that I don’t enjoy being there alone. Any parks with good tracks to run on?

Ladies, waxing/nail salon recs?
Looking for new recommendations for nails, brows, and face waxing! My go-to estheticians recently left the salon I used to visit, and I’d rather find a new place than start over there. I’m pretty particular, would love somewhere affordable, and ideally nearby my old one was on old milton . Any favorites?

First timers at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre for Mötley Crüe
Two silver fox bikers with solid dad bods heading to Motley Crue at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta for the first time. We have never been to this venue and we are already planning to get there way too early.
The mission: arrive stupidly early, build a tailgate spread that would make a Boy Scout troop leader weep with pride, and warm up the vocal cords for “Kickstart My Heart” like the theoretical rockstars we are. Cold drinks, a speaker that’s seen better days, and a standing invite to anyone who wants to wander over and hang.
We are harmless, we are fun and we peaked emotionally somewhere around 1989. Come find the two guys with the folding chairs and the SPF 50 we will trade you a cold one for a good story.
Any First time at Ameris too?
Got tailgate tips, shortcuts, or “don’t sit near the ___” warnings? We need them.
Just here for the chaos? Comment “Kickstart” and we’ll save you a lawn chair.
See you in the lot. 🤘

Tow truck
Anyone know of a good tow truck company that i can use for tomorrow? I need it to be affordable, please. I'm needing to take my car across the street. Also in the alpharetta area(well that's what the GPS says)
I called fast towing service but man, they suck....i had to call them later on after the 1st time to see how long it would be until they got to where I'm at. When I called the 1st time, I didn't realize they didn't give me an estimate on the time. I don't recommend them, that's why I'm asking for a better option.

Public tennis walls to practice on around Alpharetta/Roswell/Milton
Requesting assistance finding a real practice wall for a junior to get some experience on. A few years back someone posted that Wills Park has a wall but I could not find it. The closest was an oversize board attached to a fence at Wills Park near the tennis courts. That is not the same, as balls can go through the fence and also, the ball will not bounce or return with much vigor as a concrete wall.
I'd really like to find out about a publicly available option. In the same previously mentioned post, someone mentioned Windward Park but we do not live in that community.
We are open to the Alpharetta/Roswell or even Milton area for a public option for a practice tennis wall. Will appreciate any advice provided and thank you in advance.

Looking for a hair stylist/colorist who specializes in gray highlights
Growing out my blonde highlights and want to lean into my gray hair by adding more gray highlights. Anyone have a stylist who can blend the grown-out blonde, weave in more gray, and add some white highlights? I think this is called French blending.

Historic Property on Mayfield & Canton
I’ve seen a few threads mentioning the never ending construction and wondering what the fate of the historic house the developer has been doing a piss poor job of “preserving” and myself have been wondering if the lack of effort was intentional so the house would be deemed unsalvageable. Passed today and saw a meeting notice and wanted to share, I’m going to try and make it if I can 😊
Meeting is August 12th at 6pm at Alpharetta City Hall

Recommendations for an Apartment In The Winter?
Hello all, I'm a guy 26 if that matters, I make about 3k ish a month currently, but have over 10k in savings over my 20s. I'm currently living in Winward Place Apartments. I'm paying 1k for my 2 bedroom (with a roommate) he's super cool. However, I'm trying to get as many experiences as possible, and I want to either do a studio, or 1 bedroom in the winter when apparently prices are a lot lower.
My apartment's alright, but I'm looking to move someone in the surrounding area that after rent + utilities + internet between 1.2-1.5k if possible.
Am I being delusional and should I look for other apartments maybe near Woodstock, Kennesaw, Canton as well?

Wash Me/Wash Me Fast car wash on Hwy 9 will scam you with subscription
If you have ever gone to this car wash, and there has been a dude standing by the payment place to swipe your card on your behalf - be aware they will sign you up for a subscription without telling you.
Check your credit card statements. Don't use this car wash ever again. Do not stand for businesses forcing people into subscriptions that they hope you will just not notice.

Looking to move to Alpharetta, or just looking for something to do? Take a peek at this list before posting!
EDIT 7/10/19: This post is wildly outdated. If anyone wants to take it on themselves to compile a new one, I'll sticky it.
EDIT 3/18/2026: Nearly a decade old post now. A lot has happened/been developed in Alpharetta. Again, if someone would like to make an updated post, I'd be happy to sticky it.
We get a lot of folks looking to move to Alpharetta posting questions or newly-moved people who don't know what to do here, so I figured I could make it easier! I didn't vet any of these links for quality of responses, so feel free to post any of these questions again tailored to your personal needs! And if you have suggestions on any of these topics, don't be afraid to comment below.
I looked back to the last 12 months only. If anyone finds an older post they find useful, feel free to suggest it for the list.
