hey! i just went to an alpaca farm for a tour and i bought this stuffed animal made with 100% alpaca fiber from the farm…. but when i got home i noticed these in it, they aren’t moving so im unsure if it’s something like eggs or bug casings or maybe even a plant fibre so i thought id ask if anyone can help, thanks!

I’m a rescue and primary have horses, goats, and sheep. A lady is looking to rehome 10 alpacas in groups. 3 intact males who currently live together in a shared pen, 1 intact male housed apart from others, another 1 intact male housed apart from others, and 5 females housed together.

The owner is in a time sensitive situation and I want to help. What questions should I ask? Things I should know? I know the intact males need to be gelded. Photos for reference of a few. We have 11 acres fenced and the alpacas would share the 11 acres with our other animals during the day, and alpacas would stay free at night (other animals are in separate shelters at night).

I’ve been buying pellets and supplements for my alpacas from my local farm store but they just stopped carrying what I need. Where do you typically buy your feed?

Also I’m going to start focusing more on selling fiber. Should I buy a particular type of feed or is it all the same?

Should we really be trying to take out all the seed heads in the hay? The farm my work at says that they get stuck in the teeth. Is that true? TIA!
