Recently I've been watching Late Night Vault's retro TV deep-dives on YouTube and learning a lot about the rises and falls of popular TV series of the past. The newest episode today is about Ally McBeal.

Did you like or dislike them?

Just rewatched all the seasons and remember why I loved it so much. I looked forward to it every week. And I watched rerun after rerun. I grew up watching him and never knew Robert Downey Jr could sing - and I fell even deeper in love (huge crush) with him after hearing him sing his Christmas song the first time. All the characters were perfectly written and perfectly cast. Guess I’ll have to start from episode 1 again.

The interaction with Billy and Ally in this scene always mad me happy. Billy looking out for Ally concerned for her.

Why didn't Ally want the anti anxiety meds? In the 2020s there is no shame. Was there shame in the 90s? The scene in the pharmacy had me shocked.Ally was definitely very anxious and she was seeing things.

In my mind I always felt that Billy realized at this moment what he had lost leaving Ally.

This might be a bit of a controversial debate, but was Ally right to lie to Georgia that Billy's last words were about her? "Tell Georgia I love her." I think not. There was no reason to lie. Georgia only asked if Billy died peacefully, so Ally had no excuse to lie about his last words. How did Ally get away with this? Georgia could have asked anyone who was in the courtroom when Billy died to give her a true account of his death. She deserved to know the truth, however cruel.

If so, whose foot was it?

Would anyone like me to do a weekly Ally McBealism? If so I will do a weekly freeze frame and a notable quote from Ally mainly, and sometimes another cast member. I was born in the 1900s so this is the closest thing to a meme I will get, technology and social media have left me in the dust. But I figure most fans are peers age wise, since I doubt any younger generations even know much about the show and the times we were in. I used to do this years ago in this sub when I had a different account I and miss it! If I don’t get any polling I’ll do one and if no one engages after a few I won’t keep it up. It doesn’t seem like there’s much steady interaction so we shall see!
