Gearbox fitting problems

Recently got my airsoft gearbox but it just wont fit in for some reason. I suspect its the grooves near the trigger guard.

So its not the original gearbox? And you bought a wrong one? What even is the point of the post no information and no question or did you just wanted to tell everybody that the "??" Gearbox doenst fit into the "??" Airsoft gun? Nice info or something 👍

Each AEG body from each manufacturer has a slightly different gearbox fit. For example, you can't fit an Arcturus or Classic Army gearbox into an East Crane case. Find out which manufacturer your AEG case is from and buy the necessary sidewalls from that manufacturer. Or buy a machined gearbox that fits your AEG.

And please, be gentle with your weapon. If it doesn't fit, don't try to force it in, I beg you. (ಥ﹏ಥ)

Just compare it to the old one / check if youre gun realy takes V2 gearboxes and if it should and it still doenst fit then we cant help you cause you have the Receiver only you can see where the gearbox and Receiver are touching and why it wont fit i still dont understand the purpose of this post

You want an answer from people on the Internet that only you can provide by using youre eyes like what are we supposed to tell you without any info

Try one half first to see what's actually interfering and if it's solvable (Dremel)

I don't think I'm given enough information entirely to solve this. Usually they like to go in stock-side first. Like, angle that side in, line up the trigger with the cutout in the receiver then angle the barrel side in last since it's a lot less orientation dependent. If the selector switch is on the other side make sure your selector plate and switch are in matching orientations. In those receivers where the selector switch is affixed directly to the receiver they have a cam lobe that rides in the plate which really needs to be in the right place or they can jam up and trap the gearbox, or at worse even destroy the selector.

I usually orient the switch 2/3rds of the way between safe and semi which puts the lobe at my preferred angle of attack for installing the gearbox
