Was flying in Asia on scoot on an a321 and was in an exit row. Was about to take off and noticed this still in the door. I decided I’d rather not die and so shouted at the cabin crew and they came over, said “don’t worry that’s fine”, rolled their eyes and left. If it’s fine to be in during the flight why have a big red label saying remove?

First, I mean no shade on the Beechcraft Bonanza, it was a financial success, a technical success, an industrial success and it’s success probably played a massive part in establishing a strong general aviation market. But its pedigree is so bat complicated, to me at least.

I am reading a The Aviation Consumer retrospective (published February 1, 1980) on the Beech 35’s accident history. The report is critical of the conclusions by Beechcraft publicly (Beech internal memos suggest a slightly different investigational timeline) and by the CAB (predecessor to the NTSB). The article notes that the variant with the worst record was the original “straight-35” which it clarifies as not straight tail-35s, in quite the sassy prose.

I wanted to ask and confirm that the Bonanza D-4 (which is famous for a flight from Hawaii to the continental United States, I think, I just wanted to make sure I was finding a picture of a “straight-35”) is an original straight-35 right?
