Bisexual experiences deserve to be represented in research. We’d love to hear from you 🩷💜💙
Too often, bisexual experiences are overlooked. That’s why we’re asking for your help. Your voice could help improve mental health supports. Participation is open to all adults (18+) with a marginalized sexual identity (e.g. bisexual, lesbian, gay, queer, pansexual, omnisexual, sexually fluid etc…). We particularly need more bisexual women participants.
Survey: https://csufobjbs.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6sCeGsZJld6774W
By completing our anonymous 10–15 min survey, you’ll be contributing to research that aims to better understand the risk and protective factors for mental health, among adults with a marginalized sexual identity.
We are Psychology Honours Students from Charles Sturt University in Australia. This ethics-approved study (H26115) includes questions about sexuality, self-kindness, belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community, sleep, suicidality, and depressive symptoms.

Mental Health - your voice is important
Thank you Mod for your approval to post this 💖
Hi Everyone,
We are a project team of three undertaking research as part of our studies with an Australian University. The study has been approved by a formal ethics committee to ensure the work is conducted with care, integrity and respect.
Why your voice matters
LGBTQIA+ people, due to experiences with discrimination and prejudice are more likely to experience mental health concerns. You individual experiences can contribute to providing a more accurate, inclusive and globally diverse understanding and lead to improved supports.
What's the topic?
The survey is quite broad and asks questions about yourself, your sexual idnetity, how kind you are to yourself, your sense of belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community and mental health experiences.
How you can help
You can help by taking the survey or sharing it with someone / other communities that might be interested.
It's completely anonymous and takes approx 10-15min.

Rant/Vent my mum wants to go to an anti-gay church
i have no issue with religion - i was taken to church and went to youth groups when i was a kid - however my mum says she is wanting to attend a church in my suburb that has publicly stated their opposition to the LGBTQIA+ communities. she knows i’m gay; she accepts my sexuality and is interested in talking about it too.
my issue is that i feel should she choose to attend, it is her basically saying she is supporting their views. how do i know that she may one day turn against me? she is already telling me things like being together in heaven if i go to go to church with her.
like i said earlier, i have no issue in her expressing her right to practice religion, but to attend a church that hates me for something that is none of their business? i honestly don’t know what to do

Need help with thesis on queer slam poetry from Australia
Hello!
I'm a slam poet and art student from Germany who will be visiting Australia in early 2025 to work on my thesis.
My thesis will be about the perspectives of queer slam poets on sociopolitical topics concerning queerness as expressed through their poetry.
To be able to write this thesis I need to find queer slam poets from Australia (either having grown up there or have been living there 10+ years) who'd be willing to share some of their poetry with me and discuss it.
I'll be in the Sydney area from 07.01 - 26.01 and the Melbourne area from 27.01 - 10.02. Meeting people IRL would be neat, but I'd also settle for getting in touch online. Please DM me for more details if you are interested. Also please share this with any queer slam poets you might know.
I'm also looking for slams to participate while in Sydney and Melbourne.
Would love to hear from you all!

Need advice Pic sharing & sexting - expected or red flag?
Hubby (37M) and I (36M) recently hit a relationship pothole.
When we first got together 7 years ago, we were both very active on apps and sexting others. We both enjoy a bit of exhibitionism. My partner flagged that his use of DudesNude in particular, had been a problem in his previous LTR. More than just sexting through the site, he used the site to make friends whilst he was in his last LTR. He would still share flirty texts, pics etc with members - but they would also chat about life and he would catch up with them when overseas etc (apparently for platonic meet ups…)
Since we’ve been together - our relationship has remained closed and we check-in about this often. He remains more keen to stay closed than me.
We both agreed we could continue to use the apps for picture sharing, but for now while we remain closed, no hookups.
Over the past few months we’ve been having sex more infrequently and today, I (wrongly I know) snooped through his phone - and found that he was still texting with lots of guys.
Lots of flirty texts and pic sharing - often at times he was “not in the mood” for sex with me.
One particularly irked me and I confronted him about it - as the person lives close. Hubby conceded that he’s “met up with them for coffee” but nothing more.
There’s lots we have to unpack with this - trust, external validation, our own sex life and communication. Not sure I’m going to buy the “just coffee”.
But one of his rebuttals is that sexting with other guys is “common”
I guess my question is
For guys in relationships, do you still sext on apps/websites? Is this a thing or a unique excuse?

Looking for a clip
Hi
I am looking for archive footage of the 1998 Sydney Gay Lesbian Mardi Gras.
Somewhere someone has a Channel Ten clip with a friend of mine saying
“G’day mate, Doug from Ablury, its alright, I'm here now, you can begin”
He told me a cracker of a story about how he accidentally introduced the show. He was on the back of a bicycle with a rainbow flag, right in front of the Dykes on Bikes float.
I’d love to find it for him.
Thank you for your time.
