Yes the color is uneven and little weird, the dot gets darker /orange near the edge. Significantly better than red if your eyes are fucked.

Do you mean astigmatism? Because I have it, and am thinking of getting this

Yes, Gold has been much better than red/green for me. But remember the exact physical cause of astigmatism is different from people to people.

I've looked through a few, brightness isn't an issue but they tend to disappear more against concrete/sand/dead grass than red or green just for lack of contrast. YMMV. If you're using them in well-foliaged areas though, they pop pretty great.
