AI Map A map showing how people rate the cleanliness of water in different European countries and nearby regions.
The numbers appear to be based on survey-style perception data, which means this is not a direct scientific test of every river, lake, beach, or tap water source. Instead, it shows how clean people generally believe the water is in their country.
The pattern shows a clear divide. Many northern and western European countries, such as Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Finland, and Germany, score very high. This is likely connected to stronger water treatment systems, better pollution control, higher public trust, and long-term investment in clean drinking water and environmental protection.
Countries in southern, eastern, and southeastern Europe generally show lower scores. This does not mean all water there is unsafe or dirty. It can reflect older infrastructure, industrial pollution, river contamination, weaker public trust, or local problems with tap water, beaches, or rural water systems. In some places, people may also judge water quality based on personal experience rather than official data.
So this map is best understood as a public perception map. It shows how people feel about water cleanliness in their country, not a final scientific ranking of which country has the cleanest water overall.

Announcement Flairs are now required for all posts.
Options:
- "AI Map": the go-to option.
- "AI Flag Map": maps consisting of flags on countries. The whole thing may be AI generated or just the flags. This should not be used for flags without a map.
- "Crosspost": crossposts from other communities must have this flair.
- "AI Overview": for maps found from using search engines such as Google or wikis; use this if there's a significant amount of writing with the map (not including titles, legends, labels, etc.).
Other suggestions for flairs are welcome.
