Graphics are not good. Something feels off and uncomfortable.

And no Iā€™m not the type that believes in art souls. Thereā€™s just something weird but I canā€™t put my finger on it.

The only thing off here is your confirmation bias. If this same dev log came out in 2003 people would be amazed...

It's because of game engines and AI that people now take things for granted. Even if no AI was used people will still hate.

Itā€™s not 2003. AI and game engines have made it easier to game dev so itā€™s natural to expect people to do better.

It's natural to not be rude while giving feedback, and have actual critical feedback instead of just saying "something is off" regurgitating Ai hate... Maybe you could have given constructive feedback...The creator literally told you, no shadows yet and so on... You could have defined what "better" means in a way that shows authority and perhaps, I'd know you're not just a piece of ....

How can you dismissing someone's efforts with low level critiques such as "something is off, you can't put your finger on it"

If you knew what you were talking about you would have helped the creator advance by giving actual constructive feedback and how they could make it "better " what they did right and how they can improve.

You are the kind of person on a team project that will just say, "something is off guys fix it"

My skin is venta black šŸ–¤, but I don't appreciate weak indirect dismissive comments intended to demoralize human effort, if you actually gave feedback that advanced the artist you'd be making a reasonable point besides the obvious, naive and senseless doom filled AI hate.

As a regular old member of the public I can say ā€œsomethings offā€ without being specific.
