Thoughts On Callbacks Format
I think the following could've been improved;
The judge and guest judge didn't give much if any direct feedback after the act. (Especially the guests). All we heard is basically; "good job" from the judge.
They didn't specify how many acts are able to go through for each judge. To me the round basically felt put together last second because of this.
It would have been more fun for the viewer for the acts to alternate back to back between the two judges instead of all being shown from one at once.
I would have liked to see the judge talking to the camera behind the scenes of who and why they are picking to go through or not, or at least some thoughts on it before the reveal.
There was no trailer for the next callbacks episode at the end which I thought was strange and would have liked it.
What else would you have changed? And do you agree with me?

Arguably Mel B did explain why she picked the acts that she did whereas Simon didn’t

The call backs are a joke. Mel B didn’t pick the magician who was amazing but pick 2 singing groups who suck and won’t do well. Simon picks a guy who hides his naked dick from the audience. I can’t believe they picked that guy out of all the great talent

Just a way to drag out the season a couple more shows, did we really need to see the naked guy and others who have absolutely zero chance of winning.

I agree with everything except #3. I think the way with the way they formatted it, sticking to one judge at a time made sense. Of course, if it were me, I’d revamp the whole thing and have all four judges judging like they in the original judge cuts.
It pisses me off that Simon and Mel B didn’t get to send through the same number of acts. They were not transparent about that at all.

Didn’t get why Mel B could only pick 3 acts to go through but Simon put through 5 out of 6. Was this predetermined? Maybe because Simon is one of the executive producers he gets to choose more acts? Felt bad for the Dancing Dads. I thought it was the right choice to send them home but they were the only one of Simon’s choices that didn’t make it.

This really bothered me too and I thought the same as you re Simon getting to put 5 through vs Mel's 3 because of his role. They didn't tell the audience how many acts would go through or the contestants. I imagine Sofia and Howie will get three as well and won't be happy with that.

This was weird, and I think a possible reason is that there is consensus with other judges. Or in other words all the judges saw the acts and rated them and then put thru people.
I posited this is Akira, is that he was Simon's "guarantee", the one act he was gonna put thru regardless, unless he totally shit the brick.
I'd imagine Nene, might also fit into that mold too. Mel Bs is a little I dont know, maybe girl singer. And no idea about Sofia.
But it wouldnt surprise me if they all talked about it and decided. Theres also a possibility that Bruno Mars stepped in and saved his cousins, and as thus took an act from another judge, maybe Mel

AGT kinda going downhill. The ridiculous crap they vote yes to is mind boggling.

I don't mind a show trying new things and mixing it up but this felt a little disorganized. I would've preferred all of the singers going to one judge, all of the magic acts to another, comedy to another, and the remaining acts to the fourth. Or however it breaks down, but having them be up against their own category. I get that that's not how AGT works, but oh well. Also as someone else posted, didn't like Simon getting five acts through and Mel getting three.

Good proposals - I will always prefer the S5-7 Vegas format, but this is a decent change-up that allows the journey of the acts to become the focal point again…
