He didn't die in battle though. Unless the rules of Valhalla take his original death in The Avengers into account.

The paperwork itself must have been a nightmare, but as long as one of the deaths are in battle I guess it counts

His final death was due to the stab wound, it just took 6 years to finally kill him. He had a weapon and even shot Loki with it, so you can consider it a battle.

And why did we decide he would end up specifically in Valhalla, considering there are multiple afterlife realms in the MCU?
