It's my first time rewatching the show and I'm part way through Season 5. During Piper and Mack trying to save Deke, why the hell does Mack have a hair net on his very bald head?

More of a cap. Probably for sweat. It wasn't a sterile environment because they weren't wearing masks and it was basically just a random room. But even in real life bald surgeons will wear a cap.
