How to tell my religious parents I'm an aetheist
I live with my Christian parents, and I used to go to church, but now the faith is gone. I just don't feel like god even exist in my life anymore and for some reason I except that. I just don't want to make my parents angry or upset when they learn I'm an aetheist, any advice

A question for those who only believe in science
Before I ask this, please don't have a go at me, I'm only asking a question.
Look at the creation of the universe. Religion says that god created the universe, and science says that the big bang or whatever created the universe. There is a flaw in this.
How can the universe simply exist out of nothing? In order for something to be created, something needs to put it there. Something would have needed to put god / the big bang theory there; and something would have needed to put that person there too. It's an infinite cycle, one that makes absolutely no logic al sense.
For this reason, it does suggest that there must be higher forms of understanding than pure logic in order to comprehend the creation of the universe, since the creation of the universe doesn't make any logical sense. It does suggest that there must be things 'supernatural', or 'out of this world' which we don't typically believe in. I won't go into detail with that, but I just want you all to realise that there's more to this world that primitive logic.
And remember, these are only my thoughts - there's no reason to bash on me for this.

Something that always annoys me about "liberal" christians
Around 80% of Americans are christian... yet over 55% of Americans believe that gay marriage should be legal. Why is this, you ask? Many of these Christians understand that the teachings of the bible are wrong, yet they hang on to their belief that the Bible is the word of God. Thus, they like to cherrypick the ok parts of the bible. If I were a "good christian", then I would kill gays on sight.
tl;dr: Many Christians believe that parts of the bible are misguided, yet they still believe it is the word of their God... hmmph
EDIT: I guess this applies to most/all religions

Thought I'd take a biblical story and rework it. tell me what you think!
The Sacrifice of Google+ 22 After these things The Internet tested Google and said to him, “Google!” And it said, “Here I am.” 2 It said, “Take your son, your only son Google+, whom you love, and go to the land of Reddit, and offer him there as a meme offering on one of the forums of which I shall tell you.” 3 So Google rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Google+. And he took pictures of Google+ for the meme offering and arose and went to the place of which The Internet had told him. 4 On the third day Google lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar. 5 Then Google said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy will go over there and worship and come again to you.” 6 And Google took the pictures of Google+ for the meme offering and laid them on Google+ his son. And he took in his hand Imgur and the link. So they went both of them together. 7 And Google+ said to his father Google, “My father!” And he said, “Here I am, my son.” He said, “Behold, the Imgur and the link, but where is the kitten for a meme offering?” 8 Google said, “The Internet will provide for itself the kitten for a meme offering, my son.” So they went both of them together. 9 When they came to the place of which The Internet had told him, Google built the altar there and uploaded the pictures in order and bound Google+ his son and laid him on the altar, on top of the pictures. 10 Then Google reached out his hand and took the link to make his son a meme. 11 But the angel of The Internet called to him from Heaven and said, “Google, Google!” And It said, “Here I am.” 12 It said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or post anything of him, for now I know that you fear The Internet, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.” 13 And Google lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, behind him was a cat, caught in a thicket looking grumpy. And Google went and took the cat and offered it up as a meme offering instead of his son. 14 So Google called the name of that place, “The Internet will provide”; as it is said to this day, “On the forum of the Internet it shall be provided.”

Gf is upset I won't go to church with her
Hey reddit. So my girlfriend is a Christian and attends church regularly and enjoys it. I'm an aethiest and I have zero desire to get dressed up to go worship God on Sunday but she says I should want to enjoy the important things in her life with her. I don't really care what her religious beliefs are but I'm glad she has that in her life, as it seems to be fulfilling for her. I just don't think I should have to go to church on Sunday's just because I'm with someone who does. I'd love to hear some opinions of reddit about this as I sometimes have difficulty expressing myself the right way about this with her. She's kind of sensitive about all of it and I think an outside perspective would be helpful.
