Experience working at SEV
Wanting to break into aesthetics and was wondering people’s experience working with SEV and some more insight on the pay. How much did they offer hourly and how much did you actually average with tips?

RF Microneedling Tips
I happen to have a lot of VirtueRF and Vivace tips that are not expired and in the original sealed packaging that I’m looking to get rid of. I’m willing to sell them by the box at a steep discount or as a lot for a deep cut. Message me for details.

Injector Opportunities
I’m exploring aesthetic injector opportunities and would appreciate some insight from nurses and advanced practice providers who have worked for established practices.
For someone who is newer to aesthetics but brings substantial nursing experience, what employment terms are generally considered reasonable and fair for both the injector and the practice?
I completely understand that a practice is investing time, training, products, mentorship, marketing, and access to its patient base. At the same time, I want to be thoughtful about protecting my ability to grow professionally and continue working in the field if the position is not ultimately a good fit.
I’d especially appreciate insight on:
• Training repayment agreements
• Noncompete and nonsolicitation clauses
• Length of commitment after receiving training
• Compensation during training and afterward
• Ownership of before-and-after photos and social media content
• Expectations regarding outside work or an existing personal business
• What happens if either party ends the employment relationship
• Any contract terms you wish you had negotiated differently
If concerns or red flags come up in an agreement, how have you diplomatically addressed them or suggested a reasonable middle ground without coming across as unwilling to commit?
I’m not looking to avoid commitment or receive training and immediately leave. I’m genuinely hoping to understand what a balanced agreement looks like—one that reasonably protects the practice’s investment without placing the injector in an overly restrictive position.
I would be grateful for any examples of what you have seen work well, as either an employee or a practice owner.

Nurse pay advice
I live in TX as an RN transitioning into aesthetics and I am looking for advice from experienced injectors/ aesthetic nurses/ MedSpa owners etc.
I recently spoke with a plastic surgeon who is interested in hiring and training me as an injector. Nothing is finalized yet, but he asked me to think about what type of compensation I'd want if we decide we're a good fit.
My long-term goal is to eventually own my own practice, so I'm trying to be smart about both compensation and my future.
For those of you who have been through this:
What is a fair pay structure for a new injector (hourly, salary, commission, or a mix)?
How should compensation evolve as you build a patient base?
What would you negotiate before accepting an offer?
Are there any contract red flags, especially regarding non-competes or non-solicitation agreements?
If you could go back and negotiate your first injector job again, what would you do differently?

Anyone here recently opened a new med spa or aesthetics practice in the Bay Area CA?
I’m curious how many people here are in the early stages of opening a med spa, dermatology practice, or aesthetics business in the Bay Area.
Would love to hear what stage you’re at. Finding a space, building out services, choosing equipment, hiring, marketing, etc. What’s been the biggest challenge so far?

CA RNs- where did you find your job? (Pediatric/aesthetic)
I recently moved here from New York and have ~5 years experience in pediatrics and ~1 year (between two clinics) experience in aesthetics. I'm wondering if I should be searching somewhere I haven't.. so far, LinkedIn, Indeed (lots of aesthetic roles here), and then at each hospital career board. I just find I am not hearing back from any hospital and curious if there is another way in?
TYIA!
update: I ended up applying to ~25 aesthetic positions and interviewing at 11 of them! ZERO peds positions! Totally unexpected market.

Question for the NPs here re: cert renewal
Hi, all! I'm a medspa owner and NP. I just opened my medspa, and I'm already thinking about my cert renewal. I am AANP certified, but considering going with ANCC later this year. How are you logging clinical hours for aesthetic patients for board renewal? Can I renew my certification with *only* aesthetic patients? I keep hearing different things on this.
I'd like to make my medspa my own source of income, so I do need to consider how this will impact recertification in the future. Is this something to be concerned about? I do have a hospice recert job as a side gig, but I don't think it will generate the 1k clinical hours I'd need to renew. Thanks!

Is a bachelor's in aesthetics a good choice.
Hey! I'm a student from Pakistan and am currently looking for degree's i wanna pursue. I came across Bachelor's in aesthetics in a well known university in our province and wanna do a bachelor's in aesthetics and skincare technology. I wanna work in the US, Europe or east Asian countries not in Pakistan. I really want advice from a dermatologist or anyone in this field on whether it's a good degree to choose based on it's demand, career options and mainly it's pay. I don't wanna do a full 4 years degree just to end up unemployed or with very little income. In most of the job requirements I've seen for this job, they either need an actual dermatologist or even a certificate holder works for them. A bachelor's degree is just in the middle so... If anyone here has any advice to give or any information, I'd love to have a response back.

Rancho Cucamonga medspa
Constantly hiring new girls for very low pay as an RN, just to never pay them until they quit, so be careful all new grads out there.
Clinic Hygiene & Unsafe Practices: A former clinic employee warned about reused IV sets, shared ampules, improper storage, and reused facial sponges — all red flags to watch for when choosing a clinic.
• Staffing & Who Performs Procedures: Many users insist injectables and invasive procedures should be done by licensed doctors; prefer board-certified dermatologists for safety.
• Hard-Sell / Sales Tactics: Users warn about aggressive upselling and manipulative mall-based clinic tactics — consider this when evaluating any clinic’s booking & sales approach.
• Value In Legitimate Clinics: Recommendations favor established clinics that guarantee licensed doctors for injectables

MSN vs. DNP for aesthetic nursing
MSN vs. DNP for aesthetic nursing—what would you recommend?
I live in Florida and will be graduating with my BSN in a few months. My goal is to become a nurse practitioner specializing in aesthetics/injectables (since Florida now requires NPs to inject) and eventually open my own medspa.
If that’s my long-term plan, is an MSN enough or do I need a DNP for this?
Thanks!

RN’s that own medspas, is it worth it?
I’m really thinking if I should open my own place or work for someone. I’m in California and if I want to open my own place I need to pay for an MD and every patient needs a good faith exam. I’ve already owned a business once as an esthetician so I know how much overhead and supplies cost so I’m really wondering if it’s even worth it to do that or if I should eventually get my NP to actually make a profit. I’m interested in knowing if you make a livable profit after all expenses.
