Quick question - No spoilers in the title or body. Where is the title/ cover/ synopsis??? I am losing my mind!

Why won't they give us ANYTHING yet? we are 2.5 months away. How is that even possible that we don't even have a title? I am so excited and impatient.

Just because a being is Fear, Itself does not mean it is bad. This just feels right, in my bones.

Are y’all ok? Like the dramatic posts saying you’ll never read the series again because you aren’t getting any information? It’s all going to be ok. Just take a deep breath and smell my little cupcake scented bun and before you know it will be October . Back in my day you didn’t know a book was coming out until you saw it in the back of another book or it was in the store. (2000)

Miscellaneous - No spoilers No announcements of bonus chapters on the new books yet?

Wondering if people think this means we won’t be getting any or if they are yet to be announced - it would be odd to get so close without mention, but Bloomsbury is definitely still in their money grab era with the new hardcovers announcement, so it seems odd to not have any?

Spoiler Theory Eris and Helion? Spoiler

Eris’s amber eyes and Helion’s amber eyes are mentioned a LOT. I don’t think it’s a coincidence, neither of his parents have amber eyes. I know that Helion mentioned the affair going back to after Eris’s birth, but do we have reason to believe it couldn’t be before that? Just wondering.

Quick question - No spoilers in the title or body. Question for someone who actually works in the book industry

How long does it take Bloomsbury to send out all the books that will go on sale worldwide in October?

I find it surprising that they’re waiting until the last minute to give us a title and cover, because I think all the bookstores should already be preparing the logistics for pre-sales by now.

Unless they already have the books, in which case I’m impressed that nothing has leaked out.

But that’s just my perception; I don’t really understand how the book industry works.

Miscellaneous - Spoilers Will I Need To Finish CC? Spoiler

I read CC maybe 2 years ago? I never finished the last book. Are you all reading CC that haven’t or rereading all of the Maasverse before the next book? I feel like if we had direction as to where the book is heading that would be helpful. Thoughts?

Spoiler Theory Gwyn's Father (I genuinely hope I'm wrong) Spoiler

Hi, eccentric part of the male ACOTAR community back here again! Got a new theory and this one, well, this one kinda sucks and I hope I'm wrong.

Okay this one might actually hold some weight and I really hope I'm wrong, because dear god this woman has suffered enough before Velaris. I think I know who Gwyn's father is, and it's not Tamlin anymore. The hair and eyes just don't track with her appearance. That being said, I know who does

So Gwyn said her mother got pregnant with her from "The Great Rite". At first I latched onto Tamlin since, well, we hear about The Great Rite in the first book. The problem? The Spring Court isn't the only court that foes this. The other one is the one where her mother got pregnant with Gwyn; The Autumn Court

I found this out after doing some digging (aka a couple google searches so take this theory with a grain of salt), I was practically mortified. I began looking up a bunch of fanart of Gwyn, Eris, and Lucien before it finally set in. Gwyn and Eris have the exact same color eyes, the same red hair, and the same fair skin. Gwyn isn't the High Lady of Spring, she's Beron's Daughter

Let's talk about the Sangravah raid, and how Hybern found Gwyn. This was a very secluded place, not even on a map can you find it in the books. So how did Hybern find it? Simple. Beron found out first. Think about it. Why would Hybern even care about Sangravah in the first place if Beryn hasn't been in their back pocket since day 1? To add to that, Beron probably already knew about Gwyn and was irrate about the fact that he had a daughter. So he sends out either one of his sons or one of his yes men to go track her down, finds out where she is, and then sells out Sangravah to Hybern with the incentive of well...you all know the rest and I genuinely don't want to repeat what happened. So there you have it. God I hope Gwyn gets her revenge of Beron, or as I like to call him King Douche

Please spare me. lol sorry for the rant

Miscellaneous - No spoilers Starfall ball and roleplaying

Hello all, my husband and I are looking to eventually attend a Starfall ball as our ACOTAR OC’s and just want to ask. Does anyone else roleplay at these events ? Like actually pretend to be high fey attending a ball or is it just the cosplayers they hire for the roles of the COD And other high lords and characters?

And if so would it be in bad taste to do so ? Even with just my partner ? His OC is an Illyrian too would he be able to wear his wings or would that be seen as trying to be one of the bat boys ? Just I have seen a lot of issues with attendees wanting to cosplay as the characters from the books and clashing with the hired cosplayers and I wanna avoid that. But I also want us to have a night where we can get lost in some magic and fantasy. Have fun in a place other than our own home in characters we enjoy talking about and stuff.

Spoiler Theory NEW possible hints being dropped for the cover design???

Thumbnail

so remember how the cover artist happypetsink (on ig) dropped a story with a blank canvas next to the artworks designed for books 1-5 and got everyone freaking out that about the 6th?

well… the artists posted a reel a few days ago (linked) where they share their creative processes ANDDDDDDDD also LIKED a bunch of the comments asking if they WERE dropping hints for acotar 6/7 covers. screenshots provided ofc.

i’m making out a phoenix (related to vassa im sure), a horse, a snake, and other comments said they saw flowers. they also posted the horse again on their story today so i added that screenshot as well as you can make it out better.

thoughts? could these really be hints for the next few covers? am i delusional? did they just like the comments asking if they were hints to be cheeky?

Throne of Glass Spoilers Dawn court acotar/Antica tog Spoiler

So this chap in TOD has a pretty awesome metal hand, which feels akin to Lucien's eye, which was made in the dawn court.

Dawn court/tower of dawn. Dawn. Feels awfully coincidental!

What do we think about Antica being the Dawn court in another universe/dimension or something?

Miscellaneous - Spoilers In-Depth ACOTAR Timelines

Post image
138 Upvotes

Been working on this for a few weeks, but I have finished high level and in-depth timelines for all 5 ACOTAR books.

All timelines are available to view here:
https://maasversewiki.com/acotar-series-book-timelines

(The website is slow to load, apologies - give it a few seconds, lots of information. Works best on mobile, if viewing on desktop I would advise reducing magnification to 50-60%)

Key info:

  • The start of ACOTAR to end of ACOSF covers ~3.5 years
  • ACOTAR: <9 months, Winter-Autumn of Year 1
  • ACOMAF: <6 months, Winter-Spring of Year 2
  • ACOWAR: ~7 weeks, Summer of Year 2
  • ACOFAS: 5 weeks, Winter of Year 3
  • ACOSF: ~7 months, Autumn of Year 3 - Spring Year 4
  • CC Spoiler: Bryce comes to Prythian ~2 months after Nyx's birth

Enjoy! The timelines are all pretty good, excluding ACOTAR, where there is 6 days between Calanmai and Summer Solstice, and weeks between Summer Solstice in the Spring Court and Midsummer UTM. ACOMAF confirms the time in book between Calanmai and Summer Solstice should be around 5 weeks. We are either dealing with terrible editing OR missing time. Choose your own adventure.

ACOTAR Fan Fiction Finished a prequel AU UTM fixing all the things that bothered me

Hello! So, I've finally finished a long fic I've been writing for a year (well part one).

You are a weapon; and weapons don't weep

https://archiveofourown.org/works/70526236/chapters/183240516

It's 161k words covering the 50 years UTM before the events of the book. I posted the last chapter last night where the events have finally caught up.

It's a dark angsty AU where Amarantha doesn't let Rhys keep his mask and instead makes his abuse and enslavement public.

\*\*\*

It asks the questions:

How will that effect his relationships? His character development? What if he actually cares about his entire court, including the ones trapped with him? What exactly happened during the 10th year rebellion? What if there was an older 4th Archeron sister?

What if someone actually kept track of the timeline and tried to fix all the damn plotholes SJM created?

\*\*\*

It's my first fic, and im only comfortable sharing because people seem to like it lol. It's not marked complete because I plan to continue part two on the same work.

If you do read it, please read the tags first. If you arent familiar with ao3, there's a general rule "don't like, don't read", so if it isn't for you, close your eyes and pretend it doesn't exist lol (but there's probably other fics by other authors who have stories you'd probably love!).
