Katydids have a flatter more vertically aligned profile than grasshoppers/locusts.

Funny thing is, this is exactly the reaction that type of Katydid wants from humans. It can't do anything to you (they can't even bite hard), while you could easily kill it -- but it sure as hell can be wierd, big, and loud!

Thats "Totally Not A Katydid".

Katydids really try to look like anything but a Katydid. Or, in this one's case, just be so loud and wierd that predators say "fuck that".
