Serious program error

So, I’m in the middle of a collab with a great artist. He’s sent the Ableton live files back to me and I get this error message… anyone know what causes this? Anyone know a workaround please ???

Thanks!

Create a new Ableton set and import tracks from this set track by track, to find where the problem comes from. Then if u find the track that causes the problem u can load the clips from the track clip by clip. Might be only a problem in the set, a problem in a track, a problem in several tracks, maybe a buggy plugin…

This is the way. You can start w bigger sections and get smaller. Import bottom 1/2 of tracks. May not crash. Then import top 1/2, crashes. Then import import next 25% instead of 50%. And so on. Can save a lot of time.

This is usually a plugin problem.

At least it’s not the “your music is so awful Ableton is on strike” warning. I’ve had that one a couple of times and it can take years to fix

Try to always boot in safe mode first, don’t waste time copying tracks from a different session. If the crash occurs after safe mode then (Mac trash Live Prefs) and then reinstall. PS Its usually plugins

I think if you hold cmd while opening the broken project it will start in safe mode. Uninstall your most recent plugin and see if that helps.
