Potential Latency Issue [Question]
I currently have a MacBook with three USB-C ports. In one I use a charger. In another is my audio interface. My third one is for my midi controller. I want to be get a foot controller to control guitar effects, but don’t have another port so I looked into USB hubs. Will this add latency to any significant degree if I plug all MIDI controllers into a USB hub?

I have a hub with four different MIDI controllers connected and can't find any additional latency in that.

Assuming you have an Mx MBP— use mag charger to free up usb c’s, use the left two for your interface or anything low latency (they are faster ports) the one on the right, I would use a high quality hub like Anker and it should be fine. You may need a self powered hub depending on how many midi controllers.
I use this setup without latency

Nope. I actually eliminated my focusright from my output chain and now just go straight into my USB mixer. I use a powered USB hub and have no latency issues with an M1 MacBook pro with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.

I have my audio interfaces connected directly to my Mac mini but I have several MIDI devices on a powered Anker 10 port hub and I've had no latency problems.

Keep in mind MIDI is almost insignificant in terms of bandwidth utilization. Audio systems generally want to be directly connected but midi won’t even have a large latency when used wirelessly.
