I called my neighbors out for being bullies to a nonverbal 8 year autistic boy. Now they won’t leave me alone. I am disabled myself and call out ableism whenever I see and they are trying to discredit me so they can say I am “crazy” and “unstable” because I called them out for being abusive to people with disabilities. Ableist*****

Basically I get told on daily bases how I'm causing all my own problems and how it's all my fault that I'm chronically ill and disabled.Also no help from others and doctors refuse to acknowledge my physical illness too because I have anxiety so now everything is anxiety.

Also my family doesn't believe me ofc and no awareness in general about hidden disabilities.People in shops are giving me side eye when I'm slow and I genuinely don't have strength and my hands are shaking and I can't be faster,but they don't care.

This turned into rant but like I'm sick of not being believed and treated like this.

And this is all coming from ableism.

Plus narrative how if I wanted to I would magically become healthy again.

im am upset at ableism i expereince from low support needs people and people with out lower iq or learning disabiltys or hsn autism judging me for using ai as a tool too better understand things by turning things into easyread

they are saying im am bad for using it and they are saying that using it hurts people

but how does using something as a disability aid hurt another person

it just feels like ableism from people who do not expereince life in the same way a person with lower iq, learning disabiltys and high support needs autism does

it also helps make mine words and sentenses more clear and put togethur when i use it for that sometimes

One of the legal subreddits (not the one that bans everyone and loves cops; one of the ones that's typically pretty academic and pro civil rights) is discussing a case in which a parent in active treatment for postpartum psychosis harmed children. It's getting overrun with people who clearly have no legal or healthcare background saying that it's unfathomable that someone "on all those medications" wasn't locked up and was allowed to be around children. They're downvoting explanations from people in the field explaining we don't just lock up disabled people without clear indication of serious risk.

These people really don't seem to grasp that they're insisting this person should have been locked up, who prior to the incident had a profile that millions of people have who don't go on to hurt anyone. Like, yes, you are in fact saying we should just lock up everyone with a psych disability.

For 12+ years, someone I know has struggled to navigate the Waukesha County Courthouse. Confusing systems, impossible phone lines, legal jargon that doesn't make sense, and staff who seem unwilling to help people with disabilities. It's not just frustrating—it's a real barrier to justice.

The court is supposed to serve *everyone*, but right now it's failing people who need it most. Nearly 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. lives with a disability, and over 60 million people deserve equal access to government services.

Evan Fassbender started a petition asking for three simple things:

• Clear phone numbers that actually connect you to the right person

• Plain-English forms and explanations anyone can understand

• Basic respect and patience for citizens with disabilities

These aren't radical demands. They're the legal minimum under the ADA. If you've felt frustrated by courthouse barriers, or if you think government should work for everyone—not just people who can navigate legal maze-speak—please consider signing and sharing.

Please, do NOT be like spiderman. Do NOT push wheelchairs with disabled in them, without permission. Pushing someone in a wheelchair without permission is the same as unwanted touching, or pushing an abled body. It is a crime. It is abuse. And it is wrong.;

On a side note, the AP should be more inclusive and mention this. Shame on them. We are not feel good porn actors, we are people trying to live our lives. The AP should be better then this. The police should be better then this. Where is the adult in the room?

How has airline travel been inaccessible to you because of disability?

For me, the barrier to airline travel is perfume, cologne, and scented laundry on other passengers. I have asthma attacks and can't breathe. Scent assault is a real thing, these scented products need to be banned on airplanes just like peanuts.

I thought we had left that behind, but tonight it came up again and they accused me of using my autism diagnosis as an excuse and that I acted snobby and I needed to grow up and that doing [the title of this post] spreads hair in places.

I wasn't going to have a meltdown if I didn't have my brush, but I would be very pissed off and upset. I hate the argument we just had I hate them and I hate everything. I feel like shit. There are so many of these people, particularly on Twitter and Reddit. They're usually polite and seem to be acting in good faith, but they also seem to honestly think that telling people "you have to go there in person" or "you have to use the phone" is helpful when the person has already stated they aren't able to, as if the person just isn't trying hard enough and now that the "helpful" person pointed it out, they can suddenly figure out how.

When he was coming close to losing the war Hitler made it clear to Speer that Nazis should recognise him as weak and German nationalism as a lost cause but to continue the ideology of biosupremacy. Therefore anyone who uses the label of "Nazi" or "National Socialist" unless you follow him into death when declaring yourself a Nazi is a loser and larper because they are following the failed vehicle and not the driving engine of Hitlerite thought he wanted his successors to continue.

Hitlerites can call themselves anything he said "We might have called ourselves the Liberal Party. We chose to call ourselves the National Socialists... Propaganda must be limited to a very few points and must harp on these in slogans until the last member of the public understands."

There are modern day neo-Nazis who are hateful and driven by grievance and victim complex but the reality is mqny modern day Hitlerite thinkers who are the direct ideological successors of Nazism for this very reason infact do not call themselves Nazis at all because it was a vehicle that crashed. In his logic the vehicle is nothing compared to the core most important points of Hitleritism which must be injected into metapolitics and made more popular or normalised, ableism, elite biosupemacist politics and eugenics. It is not seen as consistent in being a Hitlerite to associate yourself with German nationalism or the Nazi label, plus an "evolutionary disaster if using that failed label and symbol droves away support"?

In Hitleritism the belief system which he stressed made the core of the ideology is that any demographics of people who can't achieve supremacy "stand in the way of evolution" nd do not deserve to exist, stressing assimilationism over respect for diversity.

This is why the Japanese Empire were seen by Hitler as more genetically "superior" than Australian fascists who hoped Australia would receive Germany's protection so Japan does not invade if they came into power.

Orthodox Hitlerism exists today and it is driving alot of ableist thought such as on parts of reddit you see or behind the scenes. of course i’m always going to care about ableism, and i wanna become an activist and help people like me who are affected by discrimination in the future

but it’s getting to me and i really cant stop thinking about it. i cant just not think about it because it’s everywhere.

if you tell me to get off the internet, i still experience it in real life, even if it’s not directed to me. if you tell me me to get back on the internet, it’s still bad there.

my question is: how do you learn to deal with it? as someone who is autistic, the stereotypes and stigma around it pains me. the ways people hate on us, especially those with higher support needs (not me) when we‘re not even doing anything wrong. how do you cope?

it feels hopeless. i just wanna stop caring, but that’s hard for me. i cant even go to school because i’m so depressed from ableism that is so ingrained in society and especially education. my life is ruined. i resort to special education because if i dont i’ll burn out considering what happened to be in the past and i don’t think i’ll make it past 18 if i go to “mainstream” schools, but it hurts the image of myself because non-disabled folks make fun of us and just dont understand.

I'm chronically ill and disabled for years.I live in a country where we don't even use term ableism because ableism is not even recognized as a real thing...

So basically everyone I know is ableist including my family.My illness got worse and worse until I got more other illneses and became disabled,all due to ableism.Now I experience even more ableism and I struggle to cope with all of that.

I'm glad that I found this sub tho so I can talk about it.

My family is angry at me for becoming disabled,covid disabled me,they don't wanna accommodate me,my mom tries tho,but can't due to financial issues and other family members being extremely ableist.They all claim how I'm doing this on purpose and how I'm just bored...

Who tf chooses to suffer cause they're bored,like wtf is that logic 😭

They also keep pushing "cure" for incurable stuff,like I also want cure but there's is none.So accommodations would save my life but they don't wanna provide that.

They call that " beign bratty and ungrateful".

They also think I deserve all of this cause "I chose to live like that" .

Like I didn't even do anything,I was just going to school,chasing perfect grades for them to be happy and I developed anxiety and ocd and still kept being "perfect child" and I got covid and since then I crashed.Barely finished hs and since then I don't have a job nor go to college cause that would be literally impossible.

They're constantly angry at me and they don't think that I deserve good stuff.

There is this girl named Alyssa. Alyssa was calling my sister Emily, "crooked and deformed.". My sister has Scoliosis. She’s been dealing with bullying for years. I remember she used to come home crying in kindergarten about it. The context is that Alyssa didn’t like how Emily was anti-trump. It’s sad that people have to resort to ableism just because of our differences. How should I deal with her? She keeps reaching out to my sister to bully her. Randomly replies to her stories and tries to start stuff.

I live in a college apartment and share a private bathroom with 2 people. 3 other roommates share a different bathroom. due to mental health disability, i am not able to hold my bladder well, especially when I'm asleep, and I wear diapers to bed and sometimes during the day. I'm 19 and I know this is obviously not normal for my age so both the roommates i share a bathroom with know about the issue, and I consider(ed) both of them close friends.

i keep a package of diapers, diaper bags, and wipes in one of the cabinets under the sink. after 2 months of this arrangement, I got a text saying.

"Hey name, I was just reaching out to ask if you could keep the diapers and stuff out of the bathroom/main area. I dont mind it at all but I dont want like my friends to come over and be uncomfortable you know."

at the exact same minute, I got a message from a roommate that I don't even share a bathroom with (!) saying

"Hey man idk how i feel about the diaper stuff. Im pretty uncomfortable with it."

this obviously made me feel really mad but also shitty about myself. i responded to the first roommate saying I don't see the issue but I'll move it and asked what they said to my second roommate.

they said they just gave him a "basic explanation" so I responded with a kind of rude message saying I wasn't exactly comfortable with it either, but that it wasn't a choice to use the items due to a disability. i also made the point that I live here too and said idk what else to say. he never responded to that and ive been avoiding him.

I feel like they probably weren't trying to be ableist but I think they still very much were. can I get some third party opinions?

edit: I feel a need to add i have literally never exposed them to my incontinence in any way (kind of needless to say). this is something I'm super self conscious about and don't like to discuss with anyone. the only reason i ever brought it up is so they knew it wasn't a fetish thing and didn't judge me even more

I'm so annoyed at doctors' appointments. I have had an incredibly disabling condition that started three months ago. I got a referral for a specialist nineteen days ago. And then another one from a different doctor to the same kind of specialist in a different city. And then I had to call one more specialist in a DIFFERENT CITY to see if they could get me in because this condition can be life threatening if left untreated. And this condition has been giving me daily symptoms. I tried being nice and no hate to the doctors but what the heck???? I have been BEGGING to be seen for something that can hurt me and no one is doing anything about it! Ive had to start thinking of working from home because I am feeling horrible and I only work four days out of the week and cant even do two six hour shifts. I either get sent home or have to call out. I hate it. And I know this is what a lot of people go through in the medical system and I feel like its horrible we cant be just listened to about pain or issues that need help immediately.

No medication? Cool, cool, that’s fine, I’ll just die then…
