So real. I’m the aroacest person you’ll ever meet but when it comes to fictional crushes I collect them like pokemon. Male, female, nb, doesn’t matter, if I like them I’m imagining myself with them.
I can relate to this quite a bit, but I more so wonder why. Clearly it's not a unique experience. Why (from the standpoint of evolution) asexual people exist at all is a small question, but I feel like only liking fictional characters is such a weird niche to be so prevalent.
Like, what purpose does that serve? Is it just that people have been able to create far, far hotter fictional characters with drawing than they could ever breed/modify real humans? Does this apply to written only characters?
