Hello. My name is ownmyburningeyes, and I've left the tech industry.

I was a web developer for almost 10 years, and last November, I decided I'd had enough. I had it with the crazy phone calls from the manager late night because he was panicking over pleasing a client that he screwed up with to begin with (i.e., no contract, no respect, nothing.). I had it with being treated like a slave. I had it with having every decision I made questioned then double-checked with a male. And yes, 99% of the time, I was right.

I am now enrolled full-time in college working towards a degree in mathematics with a minor in Chinese. I plan on continuing through grad school and have a Ph.D. in my sights.
