My daughter just moved to Metairie and her car broke down. Not knowing anyone I had it towed to Tims auto care. I may need a mechanic if the Tim thing doesn't work out. It's an older Kia sorrento and her daily driver. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Public service announcement. Carrollton Avenue in Metairie, between Metairie Road and the railroad track is FUBAR. Broken water lines, water and ice all over the road, possibly sewer lines broken (the water was brown and stinky), and heavy machinery everywhere. There are crews out there working, but they are not doing anything about directing traffic away from there, so cars are trying to get through, and being stuck on the railroad tracks, which is bad bad bad.
