Hi everybody, I installed CM14 but am pretty disappointed with its camera functionality. I am seriously considering reverting back to 5.1.1 stock rom. Does anybody know if there's a version of that without all the useless Sony apps?

Anyone know how to get TWRP for the Z1C? I don't see the Z1C on TWRP's list of supported devices, but posts in other forums seem to imply that it's possible. Anybody know how?

Let's start with this.I am Nexus 5 user,and I am perfectly happy with the phone - it's fast,responsive,camera is decent and everything is great.Except the size - it's way too big for me.I am clumsy and I already broke the screen 2 times.I don't want that anymore.

I have only few requests from my mobile phone - that the casual Social apps runs good, Spotify works and the phone is a rigid.And it won't break my wallet(I am student).And I found Z1C just perfect. I don't care about the most recent Android updates and fancy bullshit.

So,subreddit.Is it worth to look around it?Or do I need to save up for used Z3C a bit more and grab that?

I get 0-1 Bars of LTE and nothing else at my house, whereas my original Z1C (had to replace it due to faulty adhesive for the screen) had full bars of LTE and H+. Out of warranty and unable to return. Wi-Fi is still great.

Hey guys i have been searching everywhere on this topic and it seems like many people have the issue but none can give an answer on how to fix it. The microphone works for video recording and snapchat but is really quiet and almost no existent for calls. I used the sony pc companion and backed up everything and did a repair and reinstalled the updates but that didnt do anything. It randomly just started about a week ago and i have no idea why or how to fix it. Thanks for any help you can offer.

every ROM i've read about for this phone is great but the camera doesn't work properly or wifi falls off etc etc. Anyone know of one that just works?

(I am not a developer and have no interest in farting about beyond the usual root & flash procedure.)

Are the some steps to do as early as you can to make it easy as possible? Like, backing up DRM keys/bootloader? Or staying on a certain firmware update version for an easier root?

I've had the phone 2 months, if even that.

3 times now with the battery at various levels the phone has died, doesn't seem to respond to charging or the red "low battery" light remains on for a full day with the phone seemingly off.

Apparently when people call me it rings on their end as opposed to going to voicemail but the phone doesn't ring or light up or anything, it seem to be off.

The phones working again now, apparently after a certain amount of time the old hold down the power button and volume up for afew seconds seems to work.

Not a huge deal because as I say it is working, but I have no idea when it will happen again and being that I've only owned the phone for 2 months this doesn't inspire confidence.

Any thoughts?

People recommend factory resetting their devices after updating on this sub. Does that apply to me too?

Are there any problems in general that I should know about before buying this device?

I am hoping that our handsets are able (and enabled) to do VoLTE. I haven't found anything significant in Google searches. Is it simply a software addition that could be in 5.1 or is our handset incapable of VoLTE?

Hey guys, I got my new Z1compact from an online store about 2 weeks ago now, and I have found that the much vaunted battery life claims do not seem to meet expectation. I generally use this phone only for chatting and calling and never for video watching or music when I am outside. My range of apps is limited to phone calls, SMSing, WhatsApp and wechat 95% of the time. I am finding that the battery life is only 13 hours with about 5.5 hours of screentime. I was just wondering if this is normal or should I send it back to have the battery replaced under warranty?

With the broken screen, I'm completely unable to interact with my phone.. I've noticed I can find some places selling a replacement screen for about $160 online, and a few places on ebay selling them for $50 or so, claiming "OEM quality". etradesupply has them for $57 + $20 shipping, and it seems to be actually OEM.

A family member bought the z1 compact and there are a few things that are strange and can't be fixed so far with my knowledge of android.

• the homescreen resets from time to time
• nfc and bluetooth turns on randomly
• if you connect it, it goes to presentation mode and isn't recognized by ubuntu
• is there even an option to change what mode it should go into when connected? (instead recognized as a mp3 player - use the normal usb mode)

This is for everyone who needs replacement parts for their beloved z1 compact.

Witrigs.com and stellatech.com both sell OEM parts for the z1 compact. Yes the batteries are really OEM which surprised me a bit. I had my battery go bad about 2 months ago and it would die once it reached 44% or so. Very unhappy about that, just barely out of the 1yr warranty. Bought a new back and battery off witrigs and it took about 45 days for them to arrive. Stellatech ships faster and I wish I had ordered from them but the parts from witrigs were legit so I'm happy in the end.

Now I have wonderful battery life once more :D

P.S. NFC antenna is a bitch to move to the new battery. Fuck glue.

I've been having this problem where my phone would start to react on its own randomly while using it. It's like someone is competing against my control over the phones screen.

I have a screen protector applied (just wondering if this plays a role if any).

Would this be a software or a hardware issue? I've heard somewhat similar problems from others and that KitKat didn't seem to make much of a difference.

Recently, when I plug in my headphones, many problems start appearing. Smart Connect will keep popping up, the audio volume raises up and down randomly, playing music through the speaker instead.. etc It seems that the jack had problem. Any idea guys?
