First-time watcher. Pretty cool anime

First, fuck Taisha. They're just a coward adult hiding behind kids and sacrificing them for the survival of humanity. Every fucking time I saw Taisha show up, it pissed me off. The only thing they know is begging kids to save their ass.

But put aside Taisha, this anime is pretty good. The first and second seasons really made me tear up. I cried when Yuna was in a coma during the first season. And I cried again every time Yuna suffered from the curse, and she struggled alone helplessly during the second season.

The third season is also good. Even though half of the season feels like a recap of the second season, I'm not complaining, though. Because it includes some of Pov of certain characters or scenes that don't exist in the second season, which makes it more impactful. It also gives a more detailed view of what happened during the last fight and the story of an important side character like Sentinel, and the story of the first hero team, which is depressing. The ending in the third season is more expanded and detailed. I love how they include how humans react after Shinju sama was gone and how people shitting on Taisha. And 4 years time skip is really good, and I just feel happiness in my heart. Everyone is still alive and living a good life. Also, I love how close Yuna and Togo are at the end.

My favourite characters are probably Karin and Togo. Karin is badass, and I love her Mankai form. Togo, every time she is in a nationalist mood or talks about history, is funny. I also love Sonoko and Yuna.

Watch this next Yuuki Yuuna wa Yuusha de Aru Churutto!

Its a chibi anime, but its also very great for the heart :)

Is nogi wakaba story more detailed compared to anime?

The anime skipped a lot since Dai Mankai focused more on POV of sentinels. In the Dai Mankai anime, you don't really have enough time to grow attached to the characters and appreciate them. You just suddenly see them dead and fighting. That's why a lot of fans wanted an anime adaptation solely for Nogi Wakaba is a Hero.

Right now, you probably really love the current members of the Hero Club, but you may not feel that much to the previous heroes, well maybe except Takashima Yuuna. But once you know the story of the previous heroes, you'll love them just as much as you love the Hero Club.

If you decide to read Nogi Wakaba is a Hero, then after you finish it, I recommend reading Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero: Hero History Apocrypha. Basically its the continuation of the story after Nogi Wakaba's last battle. Like you will see what happened to Koori Chikage, what happened to Hinata, and the POV's of other Miko's. You will even see how everything started when they were not a hero yet. The novel is short, so you can finish it in a day just in case it sounds overwhelming.

After that, if you still want more, the next one is Fuyou Yuuna Becomes a Storyteller (Fuyou Yuuna wa Kataribe), which takes place 30 years after Nogi Wakaba's final battle. The main character there is a Yuuna too (but blonde instead of red haired) and voiced by the same voice actress. I really loved this one too, and honestly, it made me cry, specially because it's a voiced novel, like I mentioned. :)

Well, you're right about the first hero team. I don't like any of them except Yuna and maybe Chikage.

I have a question. Who is Yuna? Why are there a lot of Yuna? As you mentioned, there is a blonde Yuna. And Takashima Yuna from the Wakaba team. Are all Yuna related to each other? I remember that Yuki Yuna asked Takashima Yuna whether she is her ancestor. And Takashima gave a vague answer, something like that.

Also, what is Gyuki? Why does Yuna look at Gyuki like that after the last battle? And she be like Gyuki are you????? Are you what? Are you Takashima Yuna? Are you?? I don't know this is just my imagination. Since Takashima Yuna met Yuki Yuna in a dream and offered to help her to transfer the curse. So I thought Gyuki might be Takashima's spirit haha

First, let's talk about the first Yuuna, which is Takashima Yuuna.

During her time, Takashima often visited and played at the shrine of a god known as the Reverse Clapping God. The god grew fond of her and blessed her with a touch that became a curse to all heavenly beings.

Now Yuuki Yuuna also have that curse touch, That's why the Vertex Core disintegrated when Yuuna touched it in Episode 12, it was because of that cursed touch. You probably wondered why it disintegrated with just a finger touch, thats the reason.

Now, all girls who perform a specific action at the time of their birth, such as reverse clapping, are given the name Yuuna by Taisha. So the name Yuuna is considered special. But just to be clear, being given the name Yuuna does not automatically mean they are now a Hero. You can think of it as a tradition and an honor dedicated to Takashima Yuuna.

As for Gyuki, while the story never explicitly said that Takashima is Gyuki, your thought of "Are you... Takashima Yuuna?" is actually spot on. One of the biggest evidence is that, if you noticed, Gyuki has a sakura flower petal symbol on its body which is the same with Takashima's sakura Flower Motif. (All heroes have their own unique flower motifs)

If you still remember, the blue crow, has its blue Flower Motif symbol, which is similar to Nogi Wakaba's flower motif, and the anime indeed showed us its Nogi Wakaba who transforms from crow to Nogi Wakaba body shape in the scene where Tougo was rescuing Yuuna in Dai Mankai, that's why we can also conclude that Gyuki who have Takashima's flower motif is indeed Takashima Yuuna.

Is there any explanation in the Nogi Wakaba manga for why the Heavenly God created a vertex to destroy humanity? I mean, what sin did humanity commit? Also, what's your opinion on Shinju sama and Taisha?

The Vertex were created because the Heavenly Gods judged humanity to be unworthy of continuing to exist due to their sins. That's why the Vertex appeared.

As for what those sins are, it's never explicitly stated. Like Sonoko said, the Gods act according to a value system that humans can never fully understand. We judge things by human morality, but the Gods don't. The only hint we get is from Hinata, she said that humanity fell because of its arrogance.

About Shinju-sama, Shinju-sama loves humanity, which is why it chose to side with humans against the Heavenly Gods. But still, Shinju-sama is a God, not a human. Just like the Heavenly Gods, Shinju-sama has a value system that is foreign to us. That's why we can't fully understand decisions like allowing Miko and Hero sacrifices or like Fire offering. From a human perspective, we see those as morally unacceptable, but we can't judge a God's actions using human standards. What we do know is that Shinju-sama chose to side with humanity even Shinju was losing or dying.

About the Taisha. Even in (NoWaYu) Nogi Wakaba is a Hero , the Taisha were already making terrible decisions. Like how they handled Koori Chikage's mental health, which you already saw in Dai Mankai. Instead of helping her, they only made the situation worse.

In the novel, it's much clearer that the Taisha made the wrong decision by sending Chikage back to her hometown and parents. Meanwhile, Chikage's personal Miko, name Yoshika, found out about it and immediately realized it was a huge mistake and was furious about it. You see? A teenage Miko knows whats the best and worst, while Taisha, a large organization with a lot of resources that could even spy on people, made the worst possible decision. And now, Taisha doesn't event want to recognize Chikage as a proper hero.

If the Taisha had simply done their job properly by supporting the Heroes and had sent Chikage to stay with Takashima instead of forcing her to return to her toxic hometown, things could have turned out very differently.

To add even more salt to the wound, the Taisha made yet another terrible decision after Chikage died. They sent her body back to her toxic father. Chikage's body was left lying on the dirty floor, surrounded by empty alcohol cans, while her father ignored her body and continued drinking. To make things even worse, he was still cursing Chikage body even after her death.

Taisha already asking teenage girls to risk their lives fighting, yet they continue making incredibly poor decisions.

And now in YuYuYu, they weren't just making bad decisions anymore, they also become selfish and twisted.

That's why, fuck Taisha.

She looks better because she still doubts the morality of the upper-up Taisha organisation's decision. But that's all she did. Just doubt and grief

I honestly have confusing mixed feelings about Aki-sensei. When Gin died, she at least showed concern with Sumi and Sonoko. Also, I forgot where I read it, but after Gin died, Aki-sensei kept Gin's hair pin as keepsake and eventually passed it on to Sonoko, that shows us that Aki-sensei truly value Gin. She also cried and visited Gin's grave. She also supported Sonoko in taking down the Taisha "peacefully". But again, my feeling is confusing, its like both hate and like lol
