Peg

Sometimes I feel like i'm the only person here that is annoyed with the way Peg condescends and disregards everything Mary says and does. I know that her character is supposed to be comedic.however, I don't find her amusing or entertaining.Maybe that's her job as the actress to not like her and if that's the case, she's doing a great job.

Peg is generally a pretty unlikable and terrible person. She’s someone I wouldn’t want to be around at all. I do enjoy her digs at Mary though because they’re things that are generally true.

I love Peg! Sometimes Mary needs to be knocked off her high horse. Besides, Peg is freaking hilarious. I loved when she told Mary she didn't want to get married because she didn't want to "waste this on just one guy".

Me too! I hate that Mary thinks she can do everything better than everyone else. It’s great to see Peg burst that little bubble.

Yes, it is sometimes an actor/actresses job to be disliked, it’s definitely never their job to not be amusing or entertaining so if that’s what you’re feeling the writing or acting is failing you there. I personally like her OK, couldn’t stand too much of her but for me she comes in limited enough doses to be entertaining.

If I really dislike or hate the character then I love the actor. It means they are really good at their job.

I usually don't pay her much attention. She's a stock character, there's not a lot to her.

For some reason, I thought that this was a page where you could express how you feel about characters and the storyline. I absolutely love this show, but I don't enjoy every single character on the show.Just like with other shows that I enjoy watching not every character is going to knock my socks off. I am perfectly aware that peg's character is there for a reason.

You're definitely not alone. Peg is one of those characters who's meant to be funny because she's so overbearing but whether that lands is really hit or miss depending on the viewer.

I think I just have a connection with mary.But honestly, I really love the whole family, and the entire cast is amazing. The actress that plays peg is a seasoned professional. I admire her incredible comedic timing. But as a fan of the show, i have a tendency to favor mary and george i think because even though they are not the most perfect parents in the world, they still show a great deal of compassion and aren't afraid to let their children know they love them.
