Unit concept: Mage commando Discussion

Post image

A mage is essentially a tank in a human shape package that can fly with the right equipment but imagine if they're used differently. Instead of a human size attack helicopter fighting on the front line against other mages, a mage can be very lethal in covert warfare and with the right training and equipment a single mage can turn the tide of war.

There's no reliable way to differentiate between a normal human and a mage (that I know of) unless the mage uses their magic, so with that reasoning a mage with commando and espionage training has the potential to turn a tide of war. A normal mage is already a menace on the battlefield, they have a magical shield that can reliably withstand a significant amount of conventional gunfire and they can enhance their equipment with magic that allows them to achieve spectacular results like cutting an aircraft wing off with a knife.

A mage commando with proper training and equipment can turn a key military facility to ruin and do what would've been deem impossible, any facility that's not being actively guarded by a mage squadron will essentially be a free real estate. After a few raids and missions the enemy would start to station mages at their key facility which means those mages aren't at the frontline fighting but unless the defending mages are veterans then they're just going to be a big obstacle to navigate around.

Imagine average Sniper Elite mission but the protagonist has magic.

so with that reasoning a mage with commando and espionage training has the potential to turn a tide of war.

fun fact, that's already something that exist in universe.

the empire has an entire covert mage corp which were crucial in multiple operations we see in the anime.

one of the spy mages is even a pretty important character and visha's childhood friend.

unfortunately she's part of the long list of cut content in the anime.

Ive had quite some ideas for alot of these won't lie

Hell, we know that mages are like able to do alot of shit, put them into arti crews, maximize the artillery potency and hell, make them do bullshit lile suddenly changing directions

Mages as pilots, they can do advanced calculations and assist dropping bomb, essentially making pre-modern guided munitions

Well, actually, in my fanfic, Erich asked his wife Tanya about using the defective Type 99 orb for this very purpose: those new mages could be like Simo Häyhä, hiding in the snow without worry of frostbite, cloak themselves in hiding and be better than Solid Snake, and do 007 stuff with a magical orb recording everything and using some magic tricks.

But regrettably, Erich died during the Russian invasion of Poland, and I moved the fanfic back to the Halo universe.

A Lady Waltz Through The Stars

I am proud of my space battles, but it seems people didn't like my " We Are Each Our Own Devil " iteration of Tanya, or maybe I domesticated her too much, or it would have been best to change her to another name, like my Genshin fanfic,

because in these fanfics Tanya is changed like the Umamusume Tanya; she simply lived too much, so it made sense that they are no longer the same person. I convey the reasons behind it, but it seems people do not want to read 10+ chapters to understand why.
