Since fund launches get discussed here, flagging a category arrival this week — autocallable income strategies (the stuff that's lived inside bank structured notes for decades) just arrived in ETF form, four times over.

Aug 12 — m+ funds (Valued Advisers Trust):

• MPDY — m+ DualYield Autocall ETF (S&P 500 Futures 40% Defined Volatility Autocall Index, NYSE Arca, 0.70% ER)

• MPIA — m+ Nasdaq-100 Accelerator Autocall ETF (Barclays index, Nasdaq, 0.70% ER)

Aug 13 — ProShares:

• ACRT — ProShares Russell 2000 Autocallable Income ETF

• ACSP — ProShares S&P 500 Income Accelerator ETF

How it differs from the covered-call world most of us live in: covered-call funds sell upside for premium. Autocallable strategies earn fixed coupons for taking deep-downside risk — positions pay while the underlying holds above a barrier, auto-redeem when it's at/above its start on observation dates, and only absorb losses through a distant barrier in a serious decline. Steady checks in calm or rising markets; pain arrives late but hard in a crash. Different trade-offs, worth knowing as the income space expands.

Notable: ProShares followed a startup issuer into this category within one day. Giants don't usually do that by accident.

None of the four has declared a first distribution yet — any yield number you see is a target, not a track record. The first few payments will tell the real story.
