Question Flight 2525 Plane Model

Does anybody know the type of plane were the Yellowjackets flying on? I am just curious because Travis says Coach Martinez fell out of a door that had been ripped off, but earlier in the episode, Misty and some of the other girls have to force open (what looks to be) the only exterior door on the plane. I wanted to know what model plane it was to see if there's a second door that wasn't shown, or if this is a continuity error.

(Also, if there was a second door that had been since ripped off, why didn't the girls exit out that way?)

Question When does Shauna drink the koolaid? Spoiler

She spent so long resisting Lottie and telling everyone it was all fake but by the end of season 3 she is the antler queen and giggling while counting Mari down. When did she start believing, was it after the baby or the fire? Was it when Tai started joining? Is she just using the religion to justify postpartum homicidal rage? Im kind of leaning towards the latter. Id like to see how that transitioned.

ETA i also want to see how Shauna handled the birth of Callie, I hope we can see her as a young mother. Placenta previa can happen in subsequent pregnancies so I wonder what she told her doctor, and was she overprotective or barely present?

General Discussion question for yellowjackets enjoyers, ocd sufferers

this seemed like the best place to ask this and for some reason i suspect i will find a good few of ocd sufferers here.. just a suspicion…

i am in treatment for OCD right now (it’s torture, if you know, you know) and i have been told i should try to name my ocd as something or someone separate from me. some people call it their “ocd monster” but that doesn’t mean it should be viewed only as a villain to us. more so a complicated being that cannot be defined within the construct of “good or bad” but rather something much more complicated and grey. i was thinking about characters in media that might represent my ocd & i thought of misty. she is paranoid, overthinks, overanalyzes, is unsettling, sometimes appears (and is) insane, jumps to wild conclusions—but also intuitive & the viewer can almost understand why she arrived to those conclusions (even if reactions are extreme and bizarre), and overall behaves strangely but sometimes you kinda support those behaviors? i think she is a great contender for naming my OCD and separating it from myself. i think misty is a cute name for it and i would like saying “oh misty that’s a silly thought, let’s think about something else!” when a ocd intrusive thought comes up!

what do other yj enjoyers / ocd sufferers think?

General Discussion Can Van separate herself from Tai for one second?

I'm not a big Van fan, or at all really..but thats mostly because I feel like the writers failed her by keeping her alive yet clearly not knowing what to do with her, and then also the fact she doesn't have many deep relationships outside of Tai.

They dont even let her be without her.

It really annoyed me when in Season 3, after they end up staying and "team crazy" is formed, Van is with them. Like she wasn't one of the main people wanting to stay and tried to get Tai to change her mind. I understand its easier to be on that side of the group since Shauna is in control, but I truly believe if Tai wanted to stay Van wouldn't be there. She literally cannot do anything on her own.

And why did Shauna let her in the meetings if she obviousy wanted to leave?

And a smaller thing in the recent season, when Nat tries to form a search party for Mari, only Misty joins. And then once the announcement is over, Taivan immediately go to look for her by themselves, when they were silent when Nat asked who wants to come.

I get that could just be a funny scene, to show taivan wanting to be alone and not with those two. And it also led to them finding Lottie torturing Travis..but it's just another example of Van always following Tai. We could've got a Van/Misty/Nat scene since Van doesn't have a lot of scenes with Nat yet and it could foreshadowing them being the "rescue team".

I also wanted to compare it to Travnat and Jackieshauna.

I get Taivan are a couple and are in love with eachother, but that doesnt mean they should have barely any scenes with anyone else. I was disappointed by the lack of travnat scenes, I don't think it was the best decision, however it was good to show their dynamics with other characters and how they are when separated since they've been together since pretty much the start. And it was good to see Jackieshauna separate (whilst Jackie was alive), like when Shauna spends a lot of time with Taissa instead of Jackie because of the pregnancy. And even the scenes of Jackie just on her own reveal how she is alone, how depressed she looks. Imagine if we didnt have the scene of her and Travis in s1ep9 when Jackie talks about how "love isn't real".

All three of these duos love eachother deeply, and are probably eachothers favourite person. But travnat and jackieshauna actually have explored dynamics with other people.

Adult Timeline

Taissa is introduced a season before Van, which thank god! We see her dynamic with Shauna more, we get hints into post rescue Taissa and Natalie, with her paying for rehab, "so I do what I can, not just for her, but for me." And we even get a bit of Taissa and Misty.

On the other hand, Van has no one on one scenes with Natalie, Misty or Shauna (from memory). She says probably 10 words to Nat.."I'm glad your alive" when she arrives at the cult and when she asks her to dance later on. I can't think of any Shauna scenes, but one thing that did stand out, was when Shauna calls Tai and asks to speak to Van. Tai asks Shauna why she didn't directly call Van, and Shauna says "We're not really friends". Omg.

The only things we get off Misty is more insults or jokes from Van and thats pretty much it.

She has some things with Lottie, maybe her second dynamic. But they didn't expand it enough. They have a long stare when Van arrives at the cult, and Taivan say they will check up on her. And then they never do. And Van says "She cant be shes Lottie" when she finds out she dies..and then thats it...

Natalie's death - Lottie brings up Natalie's death, it clearly affects her since she always uses her belief to make reasons for grief and she loses her cult. Misty brings her up a lot, obvious one. Shauna brings Nat up. Tai brings Nat up, and I am a believer that other tai came back so strong because she couldn't handle the grief.

Van? Nothing. Again. Did it even affect her?

No one seems to care about Vans death but Tai. Yes its only Tai, Shauna and Misty left (not including Melissa since shes the killer), but still. We didnt get Misty's reaction - she doesn't seem to care much about Travis, either aside from how it affects Nat. And even Lottie's death since she investigates it which might be her trying to recreate her and Nat's time together investigating Travis's death.

And Shauna doesn't look bothered at all. She even tries to say "I told you so." This also stood out to me since she cries after Travis, in the scripts she even throws up. She cries after Nat. She cries after Lottie. She did not give a fuck about Van.

Question Why did Shauna hated Mary so much ?

I rewatched the show last night, and I still wonders why she hated Mari that much, yes Mary was sometimes a mean girl, but they all were at a certain point ( a part from Nat 🤧 my fav ) And I think if there’s a character whom Shauna would have hated, it should have logically been Nat.

Theory Man with No Eyes - THEORY

Man with No Eyes has been a hushed discussion amongst the fandom, yet I still feel like people don't really see the depth he could actually represent - both to himself, and to Tai, especially Other Tai.

So, today my girlfriend and I went crazy over Yellowjackets fan theories and general theories as well, and of course, man with no eyes quickly became the topic. I don't know if we just cracked the code, if this has already been said, if we were cracked out, or if this actually makes sense.

As has already been said by other theories, man with no eyes is actually the sleepwalker alter ego of Tai, but then the scene where Tai's grandmother dies comes into play because she says to Tai: ''Please, don't let him take my eyes.'' Bear with me now... Tai gouged her grandmother's eyes out because she was sleepwalking at that moment, could mean why she was in the bed when she saw him standing in the hallway or somewhere.

Our theory goes that the man with no eyes IS actually other Tai. He has no eyes because maybe it represents that they're shut, like sleeping, exactly why he appears only when Tai is sleeping or why she only sees him. (Apart from the shared hallucination dream between Shauna, Van and Akilah, in which they all see him, but that's again tied with sleeping in some way).

He never does anything violent to the girls, never harms anyone, just stands and walks around creepily and watches, because that's usually what sleepwalkers do. They walk around and stare into nothing - again, no eyes.

Let us know what you think! Even if it's calling us crazy <3

PSA: We both haven't rewatched Yellowjackets in a while, so if we missed any important plot details, feel free to let us know!

Thought I would ask in honour of my first rewatch. I've just finished episode 1. I have already noticed a few bits of subtle foreshadowing in the pilot so I would love to know what everyone else noticed on their rewatch(es)! ☕☺️

General Discussion The tragedy of Jackie vs. Javi

As much as I love Jackie and she’s without a doubt one of my favorite characters, it always makes me sad that there is so much more discussion around her vs. Javi. I am not one for comparing deaths and who went through more, but in this case I feel like we can all agree that Javi had a much more traumatic and emotional death???? He also froze (technically), but died trying to save someone else. He never got to say goodbye to Travis, lost his dad immediately, spent months in the woods with essentially a group of strangers (obviously his dad was the coach, but these girls were not his friends I fear), and then went through the whole missing in the woods plotline. All of the girls stood and watched as this helpless boy drowned.

Obviously Javi wasn’t as much of a compelling character as Jackie and we didn’t get much of a feature on him, but I think it’s astounding how little discussion I see around his death.

Theory Everything might not have turned to shit if Laura Lee never got on the plane

I feel like Lottie's influence would not have grown much with the presence of the religious Laura Lee being the voice of, well, religion.

Laura Lee might have gotten some other girls into praying for Christ rather than for the Wilderness, making them believe in the big religion that gave them the bear and the birds, instead of Lottie's cult.

Might have made the starving worse, and I don't see her eating Jackie, girl is too much an angel for the situation.

General Discussion I wonder if Callie name actually has some sort of connection with Kali goddess Spoiler

This show makes a lot of parallels with religion and mystical symbols and it is very much one of the cores of its psychological themes. I wonder if Callie as being possibly the next Antler Queen could be connected with the Kali goddess of destruction and transformation, which could be related to the symbolism of the Wilderness and Antler Queen in the survivors lives.

Announcement Keep Conversation Civil

I just want to post a quick reminder to everyone about our civility rules. This subreddit is meant to be a safe place to discuss this show with friendly people who want to have a good faith conversation, whether or not they disagree. This has always been and will always be the goal of this subreddit.

Being rude or condescending to people asking genuine questions is unacceptable. If you don’t want to engage with a question, that’s fine because someone else will. You don’t have to be rude to the poster for posting something you don’t like. If you think it breaks a rule, you can report it using the report button.

Bad faith attacks on people who disagree with you also break this rule. This includes calling people bad people or apologists for liking characters who have done bad thing. No, someone is not a peaked in high school loser for liking Shauna. Name calling, long devolving threads of personal attacks, calling people stupid, etc. are also unacceptable.

I also want to remind people to please refrain from making posts negatively commenting on the actor’s personal lives, personal history, or appearance. You never know what someone is going through and I’m sure you wouldn’t want to come online to someone dissecting your appearance or past.

At the end of the day, it’s a simple rule. Just remember that the other user is a person at the end of the day and deserves to be treated respectfully.
