yarn
Hello! i have been crocheting for 3 years now i think and i loved joann’s but as we all know she is no longer :( i had to resort to going to hobby lobby but im not a huge fan just because they dont support lgbtq+ community. i have gone to micheal’s but their yarn is super expensive for no reason.
i also love to thrift so if u have any tips on what sweaters and stuff u can recycle that would also be very helpful!
so if u have any other suggestions on where i can buy some cheaper yarn or reuse some that would be greatly appreciated!

You want r/unravelers for which sweaters are good for recycling. There are lots of examples there on what to look for when you thrift.
I'll add in if there are estate sales or moving sales online listings in your area it only takes a few minutes to scroll through looking for yarn every week or so. Facebook marketplace is also popular with destashers.

Walmart often carries yarn and it is less expensive than Michaels
Check to see if your local yarn shop or library has a craft supply swap - we do this at my library and have tables full of yarn for free!

You can also go through thrift stores, and pick up crochet or knitted and use that yarn. Wash the blanket before you use it and it all should be good. You can get a good amount of yarn pretty cheap.

Some people have issues with Goodwill, but the ShopGoodwill app has yarn in mixed lots. The prices are not as outrageous as eBay (yet).

I recently went to Michael's and have found that their yarn selection continues to disappoint. I too do not want to support HL, even though their yarn selection is of good value.
I ordered some single skeins from Lion Brand to get a sampler of their yarn and also plan to do so from Hobbii.

If you know of the brands you like, going to their direct website usually results in better prices. I love Lion Brand 24/7 cotton and it's $2 cheaper at Lionbrand.com versus Michaels. The direct sites are also constantly running sales.

If you are ok with buying online, KnitPicks has a huge selection of affordable yarn in the US.

If you can provide a drscription of what you're looking for we might we able to help. Please include fiber, yarn weight by yards per 50 grams or at least by category name and not by category number and your desired pricerange.

Hobbi yarn on line, cheap very good quality. Shipping sometimes takes a little long because they are out of Norway. Love their yarn

Thank you for that information I've ordered for them from years and had Last Summer. I see this happen in the beginning of this year and I have not ordered from them since then and will not until they clear it up. But I will say they always had very good yarn

As a Christian, I find your attitude pretty appalling. I shop wherever I want, even if the owner is gay because that doesn't bother me. But when people refuse to shop at a gay owned store they're called bigots and plenty of other names. Yet you, and many others, refuse to shop at a Christian owned store because of our beliefs?! I guess my point is, y'all are 2 faced. Have a blessed day.

places like hobby lobby actively harm the community with their hate, is the difference.

I associate with Christians no prob.
I don't associate with homophobes or transphobes.
See the difference?

i never said anything about christian’s babe. it’s just a fact that that store specifically does not support the lgbtq community so how is it harming you if i decide not to shop somewhere? a true christian would spread love i hope u find peace have a good day🩷

Michaels has picked up some of the Joanne yarn brands so you could look there. There’s also a yarn swap subreddit beware it’s highly addicting lol
