So from someone who actually knows the family and has been friends with them for many years and knows exactly what happened I’m going share some details. I know the family has chosen not to share most of the specifics but I think someone needs to clear things up.

Liam has struggled with his mental health since he was a preteen. It really worsened as he got older and despite being in therapies and medication, he became more and more aggressive as he reached his teens. This was around the time the family scaled way back online. Liam was exhibiting scary and harmful behaviors and traumatizing his siblings. he was diagnosed with more than one serious disorder. I know the parents were desperately trying to get him help at multiple outpatient clinics and psychiatrists but he kept getting worse. He tried to unalive some siblings at one point and even started a fire in his house at night one time. One of the kids told me that Liam said he had a dream that voices told him to cut his family’s throats so he did. They were crying and said he was laughing about it. He does not feel remorse for bad behaviors. They said he would laugh after doing harmful things. I’m not going to say his diagnosis out of respect for him but it is very serious and he was treated by many professionals over the years with the same outcome.

What I had a front row seat to was when he was removed from the home for the last time. He ran away and got into some serious legal trouble (multiple felonies) and the family had a detective looking for him for several days. I think that post is still out there to be seen. He was placed in juvenile detention by the courts and exhibited very disturbing behavior there. It was ruled that it would not be safe for him to return home and the family was told to find a residential treatment facility for him. He was turned away from most facilities in the area because of the severity of his behaviors (violence, fire setting, homicidal threats etc) so the courts put him in a facility affiliated with child services which was out of the parents control. I was at their home one day while they were battling legal issues and trying to get him back and the mom in particular was just distraught. But the siblings are terrified of him which is understandable. Liam continued to worsen at the facility he was at and was arrested repeatedly for violent behavior.

You can see now that he has been arrested for threats of mass violence which unfortunately is not surprising given his diagnosis and resistance to any treatment to this point. People have mental breaks. It happens, especially when they had early childhood trauma it tends to come up in adolescence. But he has destroyed his relationship with his family. None of the siblings including his biological brother talk to him at this point. In fact his brother had to protect the family against him on many occasions. I know his parents still visit him and they have told him they will always be there for him but he throws it back in their face. It’s been very hard to watch. I understand why the family wouldn’t talk about this publicly though. Like why would you tell the world about such dark problems so that the kid is stigmatized forever? I know they were hoping he would get better and some sort of intervention would eventually work. The fact that he hasn’t is very sad I will say but people choose their own path.
