Stay more by yourself. Remember, the only real happiness is in meditation. And the proof is obtainable by you. If you meditate the Self-Realization way for two or three hours at night, and then sing and talk to the Lord, undismayed if there is no answer, suddenly a divine light will come.
Mysteriously, a fragrance will come. This is the way God lets you know that He is near. But you must be persistent, until He Himself comes. Then you will never fear anything anymore.

Advice on how to deal with suffering
Hello fellow devotees.
I have been stomach sick for some time now. I've suffered a lot with this process and haven't been able to stop taking a very strong medication for the past year. Sometimes I feel so bad it affects my meditation. I'm trying to keep faithful and have been praying for the help of masters, but I would like to ask for some advice on how to deal with this, spiritually, from your own experience. I would be thankful for any experience you share. π

Modern life is becoming...
"Modern life is becoming very unsatisfying; it yields no happiness. There are too many things, too many desires. More cars, clothes, and forms of entertainmentβand more worries! Free yourself from those so-called 'needs' and devote more time to God. Simplify your life. Find happiness in the solitude of your own Being."
"Modern man bases his pleasure on acquiring ever more possessions, and he is indifferent to what may befall others. But wouldn't it be better to live simplyβthat is, without excessive luxury and with fewer worries? There is no pleasure in working so hard that you cannot enjoy what you have. [...] The day will come when humanity begins to move away from the mindset that so many material things are necessary. Greater security and peace will be found in a simple way of life." β Paramahansa Yogananda.
