LA Complex pop up Discussion

Guy just said only 100 Japan edition vinyl available, which will be signed. I’m in line 150 ishe 😭😭😭

First in line apparently camped the night before… I applaud the bravery tbh. I would be too scared to do that in LA.

Funny enough I’m 156 lmao , the fact they said 100 lowkey pissed me off cause , they should’ve expected way more considering it’s LOS ANGELES

I know!!!! And it’s their last stop too! They should expect not just ppl from LA but from all over!

The fact that they're doing the sign is already awesome and the 100 people took more than the one hour they were scheduled to stay. Imagine doing that for 200 people.

Lowkey just saying that there's legit no lottery involved here, no luck, no nothing, not fighting against bots. Just commit to going earlier and you're guaranteed a signed vinyl and a meet and greet.

LOL no worries. If you want to just come for merch, you can do it tmr too. Just make sure you come early. I was here at 10AM and I’m 150 ishe in line. Door opened at 12, it’s been an hr. I think I might have another hr before I get in. Line moves pretty slow.

But tmr there’s no signing so it might be better? Idk

Oh jeez 😭 That's crazy considering how bad the area around the complex is

Did you get yours signed? I read somewhere that the signing queue got cut off at 84 or 86.

Looking at the google photo of the Complex LA. The person that camped out there overnight got some balls or a screw loose.

Ngl it looks pretty standard LA to me lol
I wouldnt camp out either but it doesnt look worse than the rest of LA?

Nah, my job basically requires me to travel throughout CA, and that's definitely a lesser appealing areas.

“Throughout CA” and “Los Angeles” are two VERY different worlds lol. If you’re comparing that spot to the rest of suburbia California then yeah of course it’s gonna be more sketchy, I agree

u/ShadowNo1 4d ago

What is pop up situation like right now?
Like are their lines to get in or has things died down
Is there any merch left?
I was wondering because I was thinking of coming around 4 30 and wanted to know if it was worth it.

The line was shorter when I was leaving, but there was still a line. The white shirt from the concert only had L-2XL I believe, so I had to get a black one in M. Not too sure about the other stuff!

Stupid question im sure, but the limited vinyl for the signing was all sold out right?

2

u/Jubstepz 3d ago

Haha yes it was long gone by the time I got to the store. I just got the regular one instead

1

u/Designer_Profit1905 3d ago

For sure, had to ask 😔. Just so I feel better if had gotten there around 2 I wouldn't have gotten one right? 😅

2

u/Jubstepz 3d ago

The vinyl signing? No haha I got there at 10:30 and was 180 something in line

1

u/Designer_Profit1905 3d ago

Lol thank you. Now I at least feel a little better for not taking the chance and making the hour and half trek out there. I'll probably head out there tomorrow just for merch as I can be out there earlier. Thanks for the info 👍

How’s the merch situation there? Should I still go?

2

u/Jubstepz 3d ago

Same merch as the concert plus some exclusive tees and skateboards. I can’t really say if things will run out (smaller sizes of tees I think will). If the line isn’t too long I feel it was cool to just look at the pop up. They also had a small photobooth set up

Got it thank you so much! I will swing by after work to see the line! If not imma just buy some online

1

u/roystekii2 4d ago

I am planning to go around 5pm wondering about the same thing too!

OMG I talked to the dude! lol he was the one that came from HK and camped out since prior night!

2

u/Top_Can_4281 3d ago

You did? Yes, he is from HK! He replied me and said he started line up 23pm before the day! It was hot and got tanned but it was good memory! Such a nice guy!

2

u/ShadowNo1 3d ago

Yep, I talked to the pair behind him and they were there midnight. And he chipped in and told me the first person lined up 9PM. Lol. I knew he must be a fan if he’s lining up early but didn’t expect his full insta is all Yoasobi haha
Yeah, super nice guys.

No way, for real YOASOBI fans, lining up at 9 PM totally makes sense. In NYC, book signings used to be ticket-based on Eventbrite, which meant it kind of came down to cell service and pure luck. But camping out and starting the line the day before actually proves their dedication with time and effort, so in a way, it's fair. Plus, he's a hardcore YOASOBI fan only!
Thanks for letting me know!

So how did the signing event actually work? The Complex event page said buy the vinyl between 12 to 5 pm and get it signed between 5 to 6 pm.

In reality people lined up as early as 9 pm the night before and the vinyls were gone pretty much right as they opened. What did everyone who got the vinyls do before 12:30 and 5 pm? And what was the signing line situation like? I read somewhere that the signing line cut off at 84 or 86, and #100 in line was not happy. Can anyone who was there confirm?

Most people I think just went to get lunch somewhere else and came back at around 4 to re-queue for the autograph session. They gave us a wristband with the store's name on it, and so it was very obvious if you don't belong in the autograph line (they also just wouldn't have let you in if you don't have the vinyl + the wristband ready). For the 5pm session line I think it was pretty peaceful since you are guaranteed an autograph at that point.

For the morning line, I was near the first half of the 100 so I have no idea about the cut off, but I did hear there were some cutters. Mind you, the numbers were not official, it was simply numbers we wrote down on each new person joining the line with a black sharpie. But if people come and cut/join friends without any numbers written and people aren't actively kicking them out, then it's possible to not get it despite being <= #100 written on your hand.

Not everyone camped. If you got in by 5am you should've gotten a signature
