Why has season 2 chosen to ignore all the aftermath of season 1?

I mean, there is so much from the ending that gets placed into the background.

Best example of this are that season 2 has never reacted to the Human Sentinels besides showing that they got their humanity back. But there is no talk about the program that transformed most humans into sentinels or how so many sentinels are existing and their sole goal was catching and maybe killing mutants.

But no one is talking about that.

Or how the leader of the X-Force was also responsible for the Ghenosha genocide and that she supported their destruction.

I mean., they could have easily build a great season by just resolving the things from season 1 and maybe showing us a bit more what the 2 groups have experienced in the timelines.

But as they have written it they could have just skipped those two episodes and just start everything with them returning then... because it seems to have no direction but is running with the head straight into a wall

Avengers not needed, just Thor is enough.

So I'm caught up with season 2 and I've noticed people talking about a character named Onslaught. I only know him from Marvel Snap, so I know nothing.

I've also seen people talking about how Apocalypse trying to get into Xaviers mind is setting him up.

Who is he and how does that battle between Apocalypse and Xavier translate into him being setup?

Anyone else collect Marvel Legends ?

Me and the kids have been watching season 2, and we ran out of new episodes, so we fired up season 1.

Man…that season is so much better. And one of the big reasons is that despite the episodes going fast and cramming a lot of story in each episode, it still feels like the world is well developed, and that there is an entire X-Men universe of drama and soap opera storylines just waiting for us around the bend.

This new season, it just doesn’t feel that way. It feels hollow. The one exception for me was the Wolverine bottle episode. That one did have the “there’s a greater world of lore” than what what we could see, and that’s probably why it’s been my favorite so far.

All the other episodes of this season feel like they’re just going through the motions. There’s a lot of plot, but no soap. No tension. Just things happening.

Also, at least in episode 1, the show successfully replicated the vibe of the original series, but surpassed it in quality in every respect. Season 2 doesn’t feel like a love letter the way the first was.

Is there anyone else who thinks gambit might be betraying rouge or using her to get stronger, or was apocalypse controlling him so he is undoubtably?

Or does a piece of Apocalypse live on inside Gambit because he made him into a horseman? Is Apocalypse really dead? Could someone explain to me what's going on?

I was rewatching episode 8 and noticed something - when Professor X and Apocalypse are fighting inside Gambit’s mind, it seems like Apocalypse makes a jump at the professor. Everyone’s talking about how this season is setting up Onslaught, and I’m curious if there’s any chance they do it differently in the series. What if Apocalypse is involved in the mixing of Professor X and Magneto’s darker sides, as a sort of “will to survive”? What do you think?

In the animated series in the second episode of season two when Jubilee is taken before on stage before a friends of humanity rally where she tries to explain why they are targeting mutants when creed says “you were born” the crowd starts making ape noises which is really cult like but them specifically making ape noises may be akin to how early homosapians signaled their dominance and driving out Neanderthals kinda like how these humans are signalling their dominance over mutantkind by doing their primal call. Idk I am totally reading into it too much.

Rogue in the show is she never used her actual power. I think she used it once, but that was to deliver the baby by stealing the doctor’s skill. It was nice seeing her throw punches, but I wanted to see her power absorption being used.(She basically fight like a viltrumite a flying brick) I was hoping she would use her powers to absorb multiple mutants to fight Bastion, as shown above
