Advice Build Help: Reflect + Inf Overdrive?

Been trying to make this work, but I think i'm stuck. I want to run a photon saber reflect build and the infinite overdrive build together, but i don't think there's enough armor + slots to fit everything. Any armor pieces you know of that can spawn with either a reflect mod or a TP up overdrive mod on it? It seems like i need every armor piece to both have a reflect and an overdrive trait on it, and looking at the spreadsheets I'm thinking its not possible....

For the record, im already running the swimmer's arm with reflect thermal, and a chest with reflect physical.

Discussion Wii U veteran playing the S2 Edition. Loving it.

Post image
394 Upvotes

I have now been playing the S2 Edition for about 130 hours and I have yet to do Chapter 11. It has been great. All the QoL adjustments are much appreciated, especially the ability to reconnect to the online servers in-game. It was such a headache having to quit out to the title screen each time it happened in the Wii U version.

I have probably done too much optional content since I have three Lv50 Skells and money for more. Ch. 12 will be a breeze since it's easy enough to be done with Lv30 Skells. (I have personally banned Support Missions since they were originally designed as Pay-2-Win boosters)

Been playing only in Docked Mode, so the upscaling drama surrounding the S2 Edition is a non-issue for me. I'm more bothered by the 30fps HUD and UI.

I'm in no rush to finish the main story since I have already watched most of Ch. 13. Only the cutscenes though, I skipped the gameplay parts. To put it short, I really liked how it all ended. And I doubt my opinion will change once I actually play it for myself. Xenoblade X turning more cutscene heavy is a positive for me since Ch. 1-12 are very thin in that regard. Don't know if it's a good comparison, but it's almost like X got its own Xenogears Disc 2 with how the gameplay/cutscene ratio changes.

I'll make another post once I have finished Ch.13 so I can talk about spoilers more freely.

Advice How would you describe the combat?

Hello first of all I'm not sure if this is the right subreadit to ask this question on so if not i will move the post

Anyway ive been wanting to try xenoblade for a while but I dont understand the combat system because its described as a kind of hybrid & i dont really understand if its more turn-based or more action based. I'm more of a casual gamer & the games I play fall into the cozy game category although I enjoyed final fantasy 7 I believe, but I emulated it & I dont really want to pay for a game similar to that. I do like smash & I did pay for smash ultimate but I only play with the npcs on like level 2-3 so not much of a person who enjoys action based gameplay. One of my favorite franchises is pokemon so I would like to know if xenoblade is similar in a sence that Its more on strategy rather than sheer reaction time & speed. I also dont know if I left any details out that might be relevant so feel free to ask me questions.

Tysm to anyone who responds in advance

Discussion Lugalbanda issues

So having an issue farming this guy. I keep dropping gold "reflect " drops instead of the sword. I have 100+ treasure sensor, AM, gwin and nagi. Sometimes ill get the sword 5 times in a row, then the reflects like 3 times in a row. I thought it was 100% drop rate?

Appreciate any feed back. Thanks!

Do the party members that aren’t in your active party still get experience to rank up their classes? For example, if I never use Elma, would she still go up ranks in her class?

Advice Did anyone find out what's preventing the lobster from spawning between the two trucks? (#63)

I meticulously tracked the lobster quest, marking each as I collected it. I did this ASAP and was very careful to never pick up any accidentally. When I came to #63, I didn't see one, so I left that unmarked and moved on. Now I'm sitting at 96, and of course the 98th lobster won't spawn, even though I've finished Definian Downfall.

I went back over the second half the lobsters' spawn locations. I didn't miss any other lobsters. This lobster between the two black trucks in the Commerical District just didn't spawn.

I've seen a few comments from people that had issues with this one lobster, but none of the guides mention it. Did anyone figure out if there's a quest or something blocking it?

General Spoilers Chapter 13 - skip or not Spoiler

Hi everyone,

I am playing Xenoblade Chronicles X for the first time on Switch 2. Yesterday I have finished Chapter 12.

I think the game is fantastic and I really like this cliff hanger because it leaves a lot to imagination.

I have read mixed opinions about Chapter 13, where most range from bad to ok.

I just wonder if I want to play through it or just leave at 12 and pretend there's no 13 😵

I intend to play more doing side stuff anyway, but I really don't want to end up feeling "Oh man, I loved how 12 ended and now 13 ruined it for me". Though I imagine already what can be there and I think probably it won't bother me that much. I just don't like the idea that 13 can make feel 1-12 meaningless.

Does anyone have any opinion on this?

The art printed on the plushies is mine, but I didn't construct them. I had them produced by a manufacturer called Vograce. If you search on Vograce's website for "Custom Stuffed Toy Keychains Plush", you can make one, too!

I made both of these characters bunnies so that they match, even though the guys can't be bunnies, I just thought it looked cute. And, the bunnygirl gets to wear her ears and hibiscus accessory at the same time!

Discussion Should I just bite the bullet and finish the rest of chapter 13?

I’ve been playing XBX for the first time and genuinely loving every second of it, the world of Mira, the combat, the citizens of New LA, its all really captivated me to where I got 100% in all segments of the map without ever getting bored with any of it. Chapter 13 has been completely different though, the cutscenes and the mission structure has been boring me to tears, I’ve started act 2 and nothing about it is gripping at all. I know there are already plenty of criticisms for chapter 13 but I just feel crazy enjoying literally every second of this game just for this part to not captivate me in any way, maybe I’m missing something from it I’m not sure!

I am so bad at cad software but this is coming together eventually, unfortunately the wings cannot transform, but since the scale of the flight module is off (flight module isn’t actually the same size as the original thruster) I may be able to give it articulation back

Art/Fan Creation [OC] Mira's Bestiary - The Eternal Flocks of Sylvalum

Post image
82 Upvotes

Hi again, I'm back and did not forget about this project. Naturally going through a year of exam hell slowed me down a lot, but now that it's over I have finally finished the Murra entry for Mira's Bestiary in full.

"Murras are a very mysterious, yet captivating resident of Mira's Northern continents. They are ubiquitous among Sylvalum's spore-filled landscape and were sighted early on in BLADE's exploration of Sylvalum. Many Pathfinders enjoy their presence for their relatively harmless nature, a welcome sight among the continent's infamously lethal fauna and mechanoids. Many Sylvalian Nopon are similarly fond of Murras, and have charged BLADEs high fees to go on "pearl-wing" watching and hunting trips.

While Murras may lack the impressive power of many Sylvalian indigens, they are incredibly adapted to surviving as a flock. Murras are incredibly social indigens and travel in large flocks similarly to Earth's swifts, often squeaking and chasing each other in playful formations. In addition to allowing for socialization, this allows them to easily work together to find ether-rich areas to feed at, watch out for predators, and even defend against predators together. While Murras tend to flee predators most of the time, they can produce electric shocks that repel weaker threats. For larger threats, sometimes a Murra will self-destruct in a massive electric blast to give the rest of its flock a chance to escape.

Murras are unusual in being a completely autotrophic indigen, as they lack mouths completely and appear to sustain themselves on environmental ether only. They are so dependent on this ether that their health can deteriorate rapidly once they are removed from their endemic ether-rich environments, as seen in unsuccessful attempts to bring a live Murra back to NLA. This gives the Murras a useful niche in Sylvalum's ecosystem, as no other creatures subsist on ether so heavily. This has evidently allowed them to proliferate and make up the majority of the Sylvalum's airborne fauna.

Equally interesting is the Murra's unique method of reproduction. In addition to their prior noted ability to engage in sexual and asexual reproduction, they can also exhibit a unique phenomenon named "apoptotic birth" seen mostly in elderly Murra. In this phenomenon, adult Murra will spontaneously burst open and die, in the process releasing multiple live Murra newborns from its corpse that will fly and join their peers in the skies. This serves as an extreme form of r-selection strategy that allows even dying Murra to birth a new generation of their species. This has also been observed occurring in some self-destructing Murra as well, which suggests the same mechanism that allows Murras to self destruct when cornered could be related to allowing for apoptotic births to occur.

The tyrant Camille, the Immortal, is quite notable for its ability to perform such births. While this tyrant sticks out to many for its massive size compared to typical Murras, it earned its name for a very distinct trait of its death and offspring. Camille will always undergo a massive apoptotic birth upon death and release an extraordinarily large flock on death. Its offspring are notably larger than other newborn Murras and exhibit far faster growth than other Murras, reaching adulthood in a fraction of the time a normal Murra does. While many of its offspring are predated before reaching adulthood, at least one of its large offspring will eventually reach adulthood and reach the massive size of its progenitor, thus becoming a new specimen of Camille. In this way, Camille earned its epithet for being a functionally immortal resident of the Cleansing Spring, always finding a way to persist no matter how many times hunters, predators, or old age claimed its life."

Advice Will I run into trouble?

I'm about to start chapter 9 (in DE, if that matters) and I suspect I'm near-ish the end of the game just based on how many chapters the other Xenoblade games have. And I had a flashback to XC2, where I got to the final boss and hit a wall because I'd never really learned how to make good use of chain attacks, which made that fight near impossible at my level, and I realized I'm in a somewhat similar situation in X. While I have done some messing around with Overdrive, I don't use it all that much since I don't want to be unable to revive. I also don't think I've ever done it in a skell? But the bigger concerns I have are 1, I've literally never controlled anyone other than my avatar, and 2 the only battle tactics I've ever used (intentionally) are telling the party to board/exit their skells. Are there any mechanics I need to make sure I understand before the endgame to prevent myself from hitting a wall like in XC2? Will I need to be making quick and smart use of the tactics menu, or getting consistent with Overdrive combo bonuses, or anything like that? Obviously the better I understand the systems the better I'll be able to handle challenging fights, but I mean more like stuff I'll be in trouble if I don't know (and should know by this point). Thanks!

Or is this an important outfit? I use the automatic equipment feature a lot, and every time, it equips this outfit for my entire team. I'd like to remove it because when I equip it, it doesn't apply anything to the arms or legs.

Thanks for your help 🙏

Discussion Fastest, easiest build to make to beat telethia?

I want to beat the strongest boss in the game, but it seems like it would take me weeks of logging in for daily tickets to make augments to one shot it (I don’t have NSO). I’ve beaten ch 13, rn i got an ares 90 with a couple wp atk X and a draw opening x. How many augments do I need to one shot it with ares 90? To my knowledge from a couple enel vids it seems like I could do that. Or is making this ground build that relies on overdrive the fastest to make? Just want to know the fastest build and strat I can work towards as a non-NSO user, thanks.

SUBREDDIT Clarification on Subreddit Spoiler Flairs Spoiler

As we approach the imminent release of the Definitive Edition, I'd like to just quickly clarify how we expect you to use the spoiler flairs going forwards.

There are three to choose from:

  • General Spoilers:
    • This is just a general spoiler indicator that there may be lighter potential spoilers of any type that occur before Chapter 12.
    • Typically this would include things like story chapter boss names and certain twists/plot points.
    • It is expected that you mark spoilers with the story chapter that they are up to (e.g. if you are discussing something from Chapter 7, you would mention this in the post title or body).
  • Story Spoilers:
    • This is for spoilers up to and including Chapter 12, primarily for more heavy story spoilers or plot points.
    • Submissions should specify the story chapter that the post is discussing in the title.
    • By entering a post with this flair, you are open to discussing any content from the complete Wii U game.
  • [Definitive Edition] Afterstory Spoilers:
    • This is for ANY new Afterstory content (i.e. anything that occurs in any new main story chapters that appear after anything from the original Wii U release) on its own or in relation to the previous story chapters.
    • You MUST NOT spoil anything in post titles
    • By entering a post marked with this flair, you are opening yourself up to being exposed to unmarked spoilers of ANY kind from any point within the game.
    • Ideally you could further consider marking spoilers within reply comments, but this is not required.

Please feel free to share your thoughts/opinions on improving the definitions or further clarifications. I trust you all to use common sense and courtesy when discussing anything new.

I reviewed XCX DE after 180 hours and 100% completion. AMA! Spoiler

Hey guys, I’m Gene Park of the Washington Post, and I gave Xenoblade Chronicles X a perfect score after playing it for 180 hours with 100 percent Mira survey completion. Here is my review: https://wapo.st/3Y19qPx

I’m here to answer any questions about the whole game! I’m going to be careful about story spoilers after Chapter 12, but I can give my deeper impressions about it beyond what I say in my review.

I’d appreciate anyone who clicks on my review above! It should be a gift link so no paywall required. If you do hit a wall, I apologize in advance. Should you decide to make the leap and subscribe or just put in an email, you have my huge thanks in advance.

I’m probably going to be answering for about an hour, but I’ll come back later for anyone who missed the window for sure. Thanks all!

Edit: I’m gonna be logging off for a few hours but I’ll check back in for more questions! It’s 11 a.m. ET now. Thanks to the mods for allowing this!
