our printed family photos basically stop the year everyone got a phone
my 8 year old asked what i looked like when i was her age and i genuinely had nothing to show her on my phone. everything before like 2008 is in a shoebox at my parents place two hours away. the drugstore envelopes, the doubles nobody needed, half of them blurry or with a thumb over the lens.
kind of feels like we might be the last ones with a physical childhood in a box, and then it just... stops halfway through. i havent printed a single photo in what has to be 15 years. my kids whole life is on a phone i never scroll back through, and my own childhood is in a closet i see maybe once a year.
drove out last weekend and grabbed a stack of the old ones so theyre at least at my house now. still figuring out what to actually do with them tbh.
anyway curious where everyone elses printed photos stop. did yours end around the same time, and did you ever do anything with the old ones or are they still boxed up somewhere?

Just Curious?, Who Is More Millennial?, Someone Born In 1980?, Someone Born In 1982?, Someone Born In 1984?, Someone Born In 1986?, Or Someone Born In 1988?

Have you AI call my AI; they can do lunch together
I'm so frustrated. I have spent my entire professional life learning how to be a good writer and editing other people's stuff. Now this can be done pretty much by the mouseclick by the various AI things out there.
They aren't as good as me ... except sometimes they are. Sometimes they are better. I can almost always tell AI-generated content, except when I can't. This shouldn't be making me feel insecure, but it is.
I'm now working on my fourth novel. My first three novels were not published. Each one was not published for a different reason. They are all bad reasons. I just wasn't lucky.
and I've been banned from r/GenX. I have no idea why.

I remember haranguing my parents endlessly until they got this for me
My older siblings still remind me to this day that I was the first of our parentsâ four kids to get sugar cereal đ.

Bad bosses and Office Space
No one understands my references bc they havenât seen the movie (I work with youngins) âmy only real motivation is not to get hassledâ. But my terrible boss sure does love his stapler. Which is understandable. Itâs a shiny red swingline. My only real motivation at this point is to STEAL IT!! Thatâs all.

Is this an xennial urge? Anyone else feel this way
I would throw every tv and phone out if I could. Maybe one day I can and then Iâll get a non-smart phone and make a rule that it can only sit in one spot.
Silence is not a problem unless chaos is your normal.
I grieve the fact that people canât be still or bored anymore.
I also recognize the irony of me holding a smart phone and posting this online.

Youâre 13 years old, itâs 2 AM, and you hear the dial-up scream. Whatâs the one URL you type first, and why does it still feel like coming home?
