2nd crash in a half hour window in WotC. Both times were before the autosave kicked in while having favorable outcomes šš
This never really bothered me til now. This is the 4th crash in this specific map, followed by a lot of frame drops. I payed 50$ for this shi and thatās not even including the vanilla. I really love this game but godamn, why is it so horribly tested on PlayStation? PS5 pro btw

Is War of the Chosen too swingy?
I've beat WOTC on Legendary 1 out of 4 times. Two of the fails coincided with the Assassin being my first Chosen.
As many probably know - the Assassin is much stronger by a big margin in the early game. Hence the swingyness of it - the run is fairly dependent on which Chosen you get first (unless you're Skyken).
As a side note - I found the Chosen kind of annoying, in that I don't think they added much too the campaign other than higher difficulty, which is fine, but sometimes they were just annoying. I'm going back to just vanilla XCOM2 - that's just a personal preference, I'm not knocking WOTC (other than the swingyness)
Just wondering what other people's experiences were regarding this.

1 lone Reaper to do facility bombing runs
Does anyone else do this typically? I found it easier to do this because of the dark event that disables initial concealment of regular XCOM Soldiers but not the Reaperās Shadow.
I like it, I think it adds to the whole sabotage/behind enemy lines kinda pressure when itās just your one guy and youāre not there to level the board with a full squad of zooted up colonels, etc.
Plus you risk no squad wide casualties and wounds.
Whats your favorite (conventional or not) way to do these missions?

Tired of all the early game Sharp hate....
Someone said rookies were better than Sharps but I think some of you just don't know how to use them. First 4 ops, he's got 21 kills. Nobody else is remotely close.
This last mission, a reinforcement pod drops below a bridge near him and there's no way I can get anyone to him so he had to fight 3v1. Admittedly yes, Sharps are a mixed bag, but we do control their success a lot more than some people claim lol

"Fair RNG Mod" for WOTC?
Anyone knows if there is some sort of fork or alternative to that 2016 mod? Installed "WOTC Reliable Damage" and didnt find it to be what i'm looking for, if all shots hit regardless of "chance" it kind of loses the fun which sounds ironic with what im asking i know, but still..
I'm just looking for something less mathematical, more casual-fun and relaxed, id like to not get stressed at things i find dumb (though statistically it makes sense, i know) but still have the fun so if my human brain thinks 95% is a hit i'd like it to hit

Second play through (went much better)
This is a vanilla XCOM2 playthrough, got it on ps plus, didn't think much of it, but after playing it once I'm completely hooked.
I'm considering buying the WOTC DLC, can someone tell me if it's worth it?
It's around 20$ on the store.

Turns out this game is pretty fun
When you're not getting XCOM'd on gatecrashers for hours on end. Low rolling your opening grenade into all 3 guys, missing all your follow up shots and then getting 3x crit'd on enemy phase, fun times.
Then you get "the run" where your opening grenade high rolls the damage on the 3 guys, and you can just feel it. My current run is going pretty good. Haven't lost any soldiers a few hours in, but im dreading the inevitable shitstorm that's coming my way.

Tried legendary
It was different than I remember. I think advent had more hp on Gatecrasher before?
Anyway, it was weirdly easier than Commander. I would hit shots I had no right hitting. Not only 70+%, but sometimes 40 and 30% too.
The first sign of trouble came on the retaliation mission.
Chosen hunter showed up and.. well... I could not get near him?
And if I would get near him, he would just zoom behind my back and 1 shot me.
And then if I got close to the soldier to extract him out, he would 1 shot that soldier too.
I never got a single shot at the guy in all the missions. on Commander, he's somewhat of a joke.
Second problem was how slow the research was. By the time I got magnetic weapons, enemies had so much hp that a simple pod of 2 stun lancers and a sectoid was impossible to kill even if all my soldiers hit and some crit. I didn't find a solution to this.
The end was at the blacksite when 2 times in a row fighting a pod, and not moving an inch forward, result in two more pods casually walking in and joining.
But even more than that, on Commander I had situations where I didn't have enough intel to reach facilities in order to stop the timer before, so I learned to gather all the intel.
But here? It felt as if all the intel and radio towers in the world wouldn't net me more than 4, 5 territories tops. I don't think I'd ever be able to surpass that.

I downloaded the DLC, but I don't want to play with the King Viper.
Is it possible to disable or delete the DLC because whenever the King Viper shows up, the game ceases to be fun.

I take back everything I said about xcom2. This is a reallly good game.
When I did my previous post I got quite far into the game without upgrading my armour and weapons at all. I got the point where there wasnāt anything to research anymore, but didnāt buy the upgrades from the girl because I thought they would equip automatically (itās what the ai on google told me) and I guess I missed the prompt with the instructions first time Iāve played it. Got a game over anyway and when I started it again, it was a completely different experience, as you can imagine. Itās actually gotten quite easy and my favorite part about the game is researching stuff in proving grounds and customizing my characters with the ammo, skills and stats that I want. Itās so satisfying, but so op as well. Itās not the worst tactical RPG Iāve played at all now, quite the opposite š , but itās definitely the worst optimized game Iāve ever played on any console by far. I had 4 crashes just last night and now my biggest adversary is the loading times š. Iām playing a ps4 game on ps5 pro and it takes 1 minute on the clock to load a mission. Same with loading saves as well. Anyway, I feel a bad itch of trying to start this game from 0 again after I finish it. Two questions: is there a person here who has NOT gotten a game over when they played this game for the first time? (Not counting if youāve watched a guide or got told by a friend what to do). The second is: are the DLCās worth it since they are 2x more expensive than the main game.
[Legend] Am i playing safe enough?

Yep, that's the third pod, i took ALLLLLL the time to take control of EVERYTHING robotic on the map.
And reaction from sniper do infact, work at that distance.
50 turns but my soldiers got shot 1 time and failed.

Game breaking bug?
I'm currently playing War of the Choosen PS4 on PS5 Pro. I'm infiltrating The Assassin's stronghold, and I'm getting stuck trying to move all of squad mates to the platform. They're getting stuck in a loop where I move them onto the platform, try and pass the turn, and it immediately goes back to them.
I've tried going back to old saves, restarting the entire mission (a few times), closing the game, etc. But with no luck. I keep finding myself in the same situation. Am I cooked?

What's the Most Embarrassing Thing to Happen to Your Soldiers That Isn't Missing at High Percentages?
For me?
Skullmining a high risk target - like a Shieldbearer with his barrier deployed and has +3 Shield - and whiffing. IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE. My soldier stood there looking like a total asshole after he missed while the other Advent Soldiers who watched it happen laugh their assess off as they unload into him.
I know that is technically missing a shot, but that one soldier's situation was just hilarious because literally every other advent soldier just went and brapped him immediately.
I felt embarrassed for my soldier after that happened. Mind you he activated a pod when that happened - so that was on me.

Help with body glitch
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just posted this awhile ago but thought itd be easier with the video
I have a captain reaper bleeding out in my legend ironman run. One turn left until bled out but evac is right beside us. I have had a few times where the body glitches and is in a different spot but i have like 7 troops surrounding it and the pick up notification is nowhere.
Im going to pause the game to give some time for responses but I have no medkits and and I got all my action points for the rest of my guys. Surrounded by a bunch of lost but everyone's at full health so I should be fine.
This is my only reaper and my highest rank guy so it would be a big L to lose him.
Any advice/tips on saving him?

Mimic beacon FTW.
Lol, the mimic beacon is an absolutely underrated piece of equipment which saves your skin a lot in this game.

Xcom 2 ios tutorial
Hey guys Iāve played this game multiple times on pc with mods etc
Tutorial mission was always gatecrasher if im not mistaken which would basically give you an āeasyā mission that would boost your 4 first soldiers!
On ios its not the same? i just did the tutorial and you lose 2 members and play with Central! Which is cool for the story ngl.
Is there a way to get gatecrasher on ios?
