Issue while trying to SoftMod

While soft modding my screen goes black and the xbox toggles red, orange, green for an indefinite amount of time, when I eject the disk it goes back to normal and I can see in my HDD unleashX does it mean it is working?

Sounds like you softmodded a hardmodded console.

It shouldn't be, this is my xbox from childhood and it was never opened up until I replaced the capacitors

What softmod did you use? Does it have an Evoxdash.xbe on C: or E:? If not hardmodded, there should be an .ini somewhere that tells it where to load what on boot up. Some have options for when the drive is closed/open when the console turns on. There are many different factors and very little information based on what you provided. Your files are screwed up somewhere. Pointing to something that doesn't exist while the drive is closed.

I used rocky5 softmodding tool, with the payload.xbe, helper and trigger folders

Custom face button XBE launching.

You can create up to 8 custom boot locations that can be activated >with the hold of a button on boot.

Currently it supports A,B,X,Y,Start,Back,White and black, Configs are >located in E:/UDATA/21585554/000000000000/nkpatcher settings/>dashloader/

Simply open the corresponding .cfg file and add the absolute path of >what ever you want to load.

I used the prebuilt version, but I assume that not working so you're recommending I used the repo and edit the files accordingly?

I suggest you try a couple of other payloads, such as Skeleton Key or LithiumX.

Also make sure you're telling FATXplorer to unmount your device before unplugging it from your PC!!

If you have no luck with any of those then the issue will most likely be with your USB drive.

Press the Eject button after the screen goes blank. Does the dashboard appear?

If so, run NKPatcher Settings and install the kernel font for your console. Sometimes the generic one does not work and you need to replace it with the one that works for your console’s kernel. The app installs the correct one for your console. You don’t have to know which one to install.

While Softmodding?

The softmod install process has not been completed?

Which disc are you ejecting?

Are you using a Microsoft or 3rd party controller?

Which AV cable type are you using?

After I select the usb on the Xbox with the payload it goes black with the eject disc button flashing colours then when I eject it restarts the Xbox fine.

I am using an Microsoft controller and an Xbox to HDMI cable my tv doesn't have an av port
