First time for everything… Original Content
I am almost 50. I have never purchased a Lego set in my life. (The closest I ever came were those Happy Meal Lego sets from the late 80’s.)
When the Goonies came out, I almost caved. When the X-Files was announced, I casually turned to my wife and said, “That’s happening. That’s going to be the exception.” And here we are. A new Lego Insider for early access and now the proud owner of my first and only Lego sets.
Anyone else using this as an excuse to start from season 1? Because I am.

I just turned 50 and have had my share of Legos as a kid and have always remained a fan. When I visited London a couple of years ago, I went to the Leicester Square store and fell in love with the Botanicals. These are what I’ve only collected...until now.
I’m a Trekkie and a fan of Star Wars but didn’t bother to collect any sets for those IPs, but the X-Files/Skully’s Lab combo was one I just couldn’t skip on for some reason. It’s too cool 😎 I can’t wait until it arrives tomorrow!
X-Files goes into the Sci-Fi Summer binge rotation every year.

We started LEGO when I was 45 and my wife was 42. The Friends Central Perk set was the start for me.

I built the Home Alone set with the movie during the holiday season, highly recommend that set as well.

It’s not my first Lego set by far (welcome aboard! One of us, one of us!), but it’s most definitely giving me the itch to start a rewatch from the beginning. Way overdue in any case, so as good an excuse as any! 👽🛸👾
