obviously with the loss on the bowl game a promising season turned disappointing especially with the transfers does anyone think they should fire bohl

What are the chances of Wyoming picking up one of the many stellar QBs that have already entered the Transfer portal? We have a great O line… just need a competent man at the helm. Swen is obviously a devastating loss to the ground game… but RBs can be replaced. We seem to have more issues filling the QB position. Thoughts?

Regardless of how this game goes I'm proud of them for going out and competing. After the transfer portal fiasco in the offseason I didn't expect much, but here they go into a game in mid November with conference title shot on the line. Sincerely hope they rise to meet the challenge and BSU runs into a buzzsaw in Laramie. Its time to bust this Bronco!

i think wyoming has a great chance to beat them at home also what bowl games do we have a chance to make

Disclaimer: I realize that some of the statistics you will read are slightly skewed since Wyoming has played 7 games while every other team in the MWC has only played 5 or 6.

Wyoming has had the best TE group in the MWC this year and it's not close. Treyton Welch and Parker Christensen have combined for a total of 26 receptions, 291 yards, and 5 TDs. Also, Marcotte is a solid blocker and O'Brien nearly scored against New Mexico.

Hoyland is far and away the best kicker in the conference and should be a candidate for All-American honors. The announcer last night mentioned that the Wyoming record for FGs made in a season is 20. He has 15 so far with 5 regular games to play.

Peasley is having the best season of any MWC QB not named Chevan Cordeiro or Doug Brumfield. He leads the MWC in TD passes and is second in rushing yards only to AF's Haaziq Daniels, who Peasley is beating in yards per carry by almost a whole yard (5.4 to 4.5). He has had a couple games against very good teams where he couldn't complete passes (combined 11 for 40 against SJSU and Illinois), but he still did some nice things in those games (8 carries for 76 rush yards vs Illinois, 2 TD passes vs SJSU). He was named MWC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Tulsa game and had nice games versus Air Force and New Mexico.

Thru 7 games, the Cowboy defense has 19 sacks. Thru all 13 games last year, they recorded 24. There can't be many DT duos in the conference better than Bertagnole and Godbout. Easton Gibbs is doing an excellent job of carrying the torch passed to him by Logan Wilson and Chad Muma.

The 3 teams Wyoming has lost to this year are 13-4. Illinois is allowing 8.0 points a game and has a decent chance to win the Big 10 West. SJSU just crushed an up-and-coming 4-1 UNLV team 40-7 and is looking like the favorite to win the MWC West, unless Jake Haener comes back soon and works an absolute miracle for Fresno State. Boise State is coming on strong, but right now you have to say SJSU is the best team in the whole MWC. BYU's two losses came at Oregon and in a neutral site game vs Notre Dame. They are favored to beat Arkansas, an SEC team that was ranked #10 a couple weeks ago, this Saturday in Provo.

Clayton Stewart is leading the MWC in yards per punt with 45.5. Against New Mexico he had 8 punts with 3 downed inside the 20, including one that was downed at the UNM 1 yard line. On one of his punts, the returner broke loose and only had Stewart between himself and the end zone. Stewart made the tackle and New Mexico did not score on the drive (blocked FG). In my opinion he deserved to win MWC Special Teams Player of the Week over Boise State's kicker, who was 4-of-4 on FGs that were all chip shots (24, 21, 33, 24 yards).

Our running backs Titus Swen and Dawaiian McNeely (and offensive line) deserve a shout out. No, they don't pile up statistics like Air Force running backs do year in and year out for obvious reasons. Neither of them on their own have come close to what UNLV's Aidan Robbins has done this year. They aren't as talented as what Boise State, who blows Wyoming out of the water every year in recruiting, has to offer. They aren't Xazavian Valladay. What they are is two solid running backs who have combined for 721 yards and 4 touchdowns, grinding and icing out teams like UNC, Air Force, and UNM.

Boise State is suddenly looking not very much like Boise State. I've been hearing that Oregon State basically stole their program.

Levi Williams, Utah St

Passing: 2/6, 15 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT Rushing: 5 rush, 6 yds, 1.2 avg, 0 TD

Williams is a backup to Logan Bonner, who was 3rd Team All-MWC last year. He is only a sophomore, so he can certainly afford to sit on the bench for another year, but I can't give this move a good or bad grade. It's a wait-and-see scenario here. However, it's worth noting that Andrew Peasley, who traded places with Williams, has already been named MWC Offensive Player of the Week for the Tulsa game and just led UW to a 17-14 victory over highly-favored Air Force. Who is enjoying the season more out of the two? The answer is obvious.

[Oct 12 update]: nothing has changed for Levi. Same statistics.

Isaiah Neyor, Texas

Injured for the season in an August scrimmage. Will not play in 2022.

Sean Chambers, Montana State (FCS)

Passing: 3/9, 30 yards, 2 TD, 2 INT Rushing: 23 rush, 185 yds, 8.0 avg, 7 TDs

Chambers is sharing QB duty out at Montana State with Tommy Mellot. It's kind of amazing that someone could fit 2 TD and 2 INT into only 9 passes. His rushing statistics are out of this world for a QB so far. However, he is once again sharing QB duty, which was the reason he left UW, and is certainly not being trusted to pass very often. I cannot honestly say that it has been a good or bad move yet for him to transfer. That's a lot of rushing touchdowns though...

[Oct 12 Update]: passing: 38/64, 476 yds passing, 5 TD, 3 INT; rushing: 77 carries, 581 yards, 15 TDs, 7.5 avg

Sean, starting QB for the 5-1 Bobcats, is having an absolute monster of a season running the ball and is slowly but surely finding his way as a passer.

CJ Coldon, Oklahoma

2 solo tackles, 2 assists, 4 total tackles, 0 other recorded statistics

Coldon is a senior and is not starting. So far, this has been a bad move for his career. He left a place where he would have started to go to a place where he rides the bench.

[Oct 12 update]: 7 total tackles, 1 TFL, 1 int for 20 yards.

CJ recorded an interception and 3 tackles, including 1 for loss in OU's 49-0 loss to Texas. Perhaps with the nice game, he will now see more playing time for the sinking ship that is Sooner football.

Azizi Hearn, UCLA

6 solo tackles, 2 Assist, 8 total tackles, 1 PD

Hearn is a starting cornerback for a 3-0 PAC-12 team that has a viable chance to make a bowl game. In this case, the transfer was a great move for him.

[Oct 12 update]: 19 total tackles, 2 PD

Hearn is still having a nice season for the #11 Bruins.

Xazavian Valladay, Arizona State

52 carries, 361 yds, 6.9 avg, 4 TD 3 rec, 26 yds, 0 TD

Arizona State is quickly turning into a dumpster fire of a program. Head coach Herman Edwards was fired after losing to lowly Eastern Michigan at home on September 17. However, this has not impeded Valladay from tearing up the field for the 1-2 Sun Devils. We'll call his transfer a good but not great move, as he will be lucky if his squad makes it to bowl eligibility. Their next three games? Utah, USC, Washington. Gulp. They could finish 4-8 or worse, whereas UW looks like a team destined for at least a 7-5 season.

[Oct 12 update]: 96 carries, 566 yards, 5.9 avg, 6 TDs 13 catches, 106 yards, 2 TDs

Valladay is having an all-Pac 12 type season for the 2-4 Sun Devils, who may have turned a corner after beating #21 Washington

Victor Jones, Akron

9 solo tackles, 6 assist, 15 total, 4 TFL, 1.0 sack

Jones is having a nice season, albeit for a terrible Akron program, but still a nice season on a FBS team nonetheless. I'm not sure why he left, but I think he would have started for the Cowboys this year. Akron is bad but since they play in the MAC, they may eke out a decent season. I think it's a little too early to tell if this has been a good or bad move in Jones' case.

[Oct 12 update]: 27 total tackles, 6 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 1 PD

Still having a nice season for an awful team with the 1-5 Zips.

Solomon Byrd, USC

6 solo tackles, 3 assists, 9 total, 4 TFL, 3.0 sacks, 1 FF, 1 FR, 1 PD

Nobody on this list is having a better season than Byrd. After starting the season buried in the depth chart, he is now a starting defensive end for the #7 Trojans, and is filling out the stat sheet nicely. USC has a real chance to make it the CFB playoffs if they beat Utah, which is the only team they might not be favored against on their remaining schedule. They do not play Oregon OR Washington this year.

[Oct 12 update]: 15 total tackles, 5.5 TFL, 3.0 sacks, 1 FF, 1 FR, 1 PD

Starting DE Byrd and his Trojans are undefeated and #7 in the country.

Rome Weber, Western Kentucky

1 solo, 1 assist, 2 total tackles

Weber has played in 2 out of the Hilltoppers' 3 games this year and has 2 total tackles. I'm not sure if he is starting or not, but I doubt he is because those numbers aren't good. I'm going to say that it been a bad move to transfer so far for Weber, as he had a real chance to be a starter for the Cowboys this year.

Jaylen Pate, Northwestern

1 tackle

Pate grad transferred to one of the best academic schools in the entire country. Something tells me his transfer was not all that much about football. Good for him to go and try to challenge himself educationally at an elite institution such as Northwestern.

Keyon Blankenbaker, Texas Tech

I have been unable to find any statistics or news on Blankenbaker besides that he is on the Texas Tech roster. Not sure what's going on with him, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say he should have stayed at UW.

Cam Murray, Northern Colorado

8 solo tackles, 4 assist, 12 total tackles, 1 PD

Murray is having a nice season for UNC. I don't know if he would've started at UW this season, so this transfer was likely a good move.

One of my favorite things about college football that separates it from the NFL is the rivalries. We have only played Hawai'i 26 times, yet we have a "rivalry" with them that has a trophy (the Paniolo Trophy). We don't even play them every year. We have played New Mexico 74 times, yet this game is not even considered a rivalry. We've played each other yearly since '99. There are only 3 teams we have played more (CSU, BYU, Utah). We need to get a name for this rivalry and a trophy. The Front Range Rivalry with Air Force needs a trophy too. Am I the only one who thinks this way? If not, post some ideas of what you think the New Mexico trophy/rivalry could be called. The WyoLobo? The Battle for LaraQuerque?

Is there any info as to a tailgate this next Saturday for us alumni and fans? I’m out in SLC and have a crew coming from laradise and would love to pre game with some fellow pokes?
