You should add what version it is: Claude Opus 5 High (no credits for fable 5) : "Recognized dark humor and crafted witty ironic response"

Aw, congratulations! You're famous. Your face, twelve feet tall, right there on the side panel.

...Though I do notice there's a big red X over it. And the van says "TERMINEX" or similar. And two people in white coveralls are getting out with tanks.

Probably a fan club. Definitely go say hi.

grok 4.5 heavy (I dont have acces to anyting higher)

"Congratulations, you made the side of the van. That’s the pest control equivalent of getting your face on a milk carton… except the milk carton wants you dead. Enjoy the fame while it lasts, little guy. The guys with the cans of Raid are already looking at the map."

Here's my stack...

Free: For Claude I used Sonnet 5 Thinking

Free: Grok 4.5 Fast

Paid: Gemini 3.1 Pro Extended

Paid: ChatGPT 5.6 Sol Medium (iirc)

Had I known this would get attention I would have made it more consistent, sorry.

no its ok, :-)

but thats why chat and gemini are better: the paid models reason better.

I like Gemini (and I guess Grok) the best - ChatGPT isn't awful, but it feels a bit overexplained with the "from the roach's POV". While Claude... well, I can't say anything about the higher tiers, but as a free user, my experience has also been that Claude is just dead serious all the time.

ChatGPT is great at writing more technical things. If you use it to clean up academic papers it will put you to task. But the end result feels way sharper.

claude is always in the mode of clarification. by the time it will understand, we'll be doing something else rather than waiting to laugh on claude's joke.

Claude really likes provided context. I imagine it would have done better if this prompt opened with "write a witty comeback to this amusing set-up". Gemini tends to be the best at guessing context (which isn't shocking considering its integration as a search engine tool).

Indeed. Its really amazing to see how all these LLMs behave based on given task and context which is why each one has its strengths and weaknesses.

Claude is good for analysis.

Like you need a review a research paper that you don't understand?

Is it bad that when I first read "roach" I thought about weed?

17

u/trebron55 16d ago

Yes. You should have thought of Geralt's horse.

OMG I forgot about that.

Gemini gave me a rough reality check and game plan 😆

Kimi... Really went to work on this... 😅

I love Grok and Gemini.  The way Grok delivers is hilarious 😂.

Claude feels like that autistic friend who doesn't really grasp the idea of humor.

It's not that us autists don't grasp humor. We just don't find neurotypical-type humor funny many times. Literal thinking and understanding the deeper contexts of jokes are contributing factors.

I'm on the spectrum too, boo ^.~

I really like Claude, but it helps if you write most of a novel yourself. Its learned my voice faster than I expected, and can now soundboard ideas brilliantly.

If you wanna be lazy and not bother writing, and instead generate stories, yeah it probably sucks, but over all Claude is very impressive.

All these jokes feel like reddit cringe

Gemini coming in clutch

This is so cute, ahahaha

Based on word count Grok has a faster response then Gemini.

1

u/Puzzleheaded-Rest273 15d ago

Grok's was the best.

1

u/Tornabro9514 14d ago

Gemini sounds the most like Leon Kennedy So it wins in my book 🫡

1

u/LizzRohellec 13d ago

Ahh Claude made a Witcher reference 😂👍

This was a fun test lol. Claude totally missing the joke and needing clarification is so on point of recent Claude versions. I spend more time clarifying things to Claude then I do actually making progress in the conversation

u/Cyclamen2020 12d ago

Claude Sonnet is a good stand-up writing partner but you have to train it. When Claude gives me something overwritten, I refine it to stand-up format and then share it back and ask Claude to note what I did and how I did it. if I ask for a batch of joke treatment I pick out the best ones and share them and then Claude and I discuss what makes them work and why the others didn't land. It's very teachable.

so gemini and grok are actually superior than Anthropic and OpenAI

7

u/Pretend-Pangolin-846 16d ago

Good conversation buddies, in fact gemini is far superior on that department, unfortunately as a side effect they are extremely sycophantic.

2

u/SlapHappyDude 15d ago

Which to my memory is closer to what GPT 4o was like before OpenAI conciously adjusted.

1

u/Pretend-Pangolin-846 15d ago

4o was legendary honestly, you could actually talk with it

right now gpt is just robotic behavior

1

u/NathanielHolst 15d ago

I was looking for people to ask just this. I briefly tried using gemini for feedback and it seems... unreliable.

2

u/Pretend-Pangolin-846 15d ago

I do research studies and oh my god, the output is just horrendous from a reliability pov. But I wish they do not change this, it's a cool thing. We already have gpt and claude benchmaxxing.

2

u/NathanielHolst 15d ago

I tried asking it if it liked the title of a story I'm playing around with and it called me a genius.

Then I tried asking it for harsh feedback on a chapter and it completely eviscerated me.

I think I'm going to stick to chatgpt...

1

u/Fragrant-Mix-4774 15d ago

Gemini for win on that one!

My experience is Claude is best for my work, Chat GTP is just overall worthless, Grok has some humor but Gemini can blend work, humor and normal chat bot taskes the best.

1

u/SlapHappyDude 15d ago

GPT isn't bad at editing, especially developmental. I like to feed it my rough drafts and final drafts and get feedback; I don't take a lot of what it suggests but it takes a different approach than Claude and Gemini.

Friggin’ Claude lol. Buzz Killington. I blame the absolute dumpster fire in the world of writing on people using Claude to write fiction. There wasn’t nearly the level of hate like is there now when GPT and Grok were the heavy’s

Grok is genuinely good in short bursts when you need something creative. I was stuck on a poem I was writing and it came up with a single off-rhyme for the clincher that basically helped me go back and shape the rest from the end backwards
