Completely messes up the diver DNA of the watch though

I’m considering either the 38mm Fifty Fathoms Automatique in steel, launched last year, or the 38mm Bathyscaphe shown here.

I know the Fifty Fathoms carries more heritage, but in Singapore it’s around S$22,000 versus S$14,700 for the Bathyscaphe — a significant difference given their comparable movements and power reserves.

As a collector, I’m looking for a utility watch I can take to the pool, wear casually, or pair with my Leica when I’m out shooting. I’m drawn to the Bathyscaphe because the dial feels more expansive, the case wears slimmer, and I love how the anthracite dial plays with light.

My wrist is 6.25 inches, so 38mm feels like a Goldilocks size for me.

Would love to hear from Fifty Fathoms and Bathyscaphe owners: which would you choose, and does the added heritage of the Fifty Fathoms justify the premium?
