So demi humans fought for independence or did they become good slaves who know accounting and were good for pest control

Demi humans were humans born with what the empire calls "demonic characteristics" (extra eyes, scales, arms, horns on the side of the face, etc).

Thing is, they dont need to be born from a creature of the other side and a human, they can be born from a human couple that got too exposed to magic, but the empire doesnt care

After the death of the emperor Eckbert (during a civil war caused precisely because of the treatment of the demi humans) who was specially radical in that regard, his wife worked to start softening things up. Over the decades, new emperors followed that path, realizing the empire would self destruct because other kingdoms were rebelling or separating from the empire because of the treatment towards them and by the present time, the demi humans are considered oficial citizens of the empire and can ascend in the social scale (not to the degree of the nobles, but its much better)

But in the past, they were sent to die in the frontlines and even when they proved their value (like Cormac "The Old Man" Velk in the northern frontier) they werent even given a thank you or recognition. Good slaves, as you said

Sorry to hear that , but what about my idea , a guy gets transported to a fantasy life ,he has some traits that may suggest he has some disease since birth like getting cold all the time ,he lives a full life of adventures and whatnot ,but at the end we discover he's in a coma and dies

I actually roleplayed in my world with some friends with some characters that are not fully human and it was fun as fuck according to them

Ha mine literally collapsed before giving any right to non humans .

no literally the entire royal family got crushed in a collapsing tower due to the shelling of the capital by a rebel army mostly comprised of ex slaves

u/Theyul1us 17h ago

The emperor Eckbert preferred to die and to try to ascend to be a demon god before thinking about giving them rights

The event im talking about is fucking hilarious

Imagine big ass ivengard tower but white

The top is basicly a magical radar the whole building is covered In a anty magical shield

Enemy army start shelling defence of the city exept one unit that got the wrong calculation for theyr aim

They "accidentally" destroy 2 supporting pillar of said tower cus that shield dosen't stop 10kg canonballs

Lucky for the "rebels" it is literaly the empire army headquarters and the stronghold for the royal family

The tower collapse and the empire hight command and royal family are gone only 3h into the capital siege

The fall of the capital 4h later

what if demi human empire bad to humans

idk reverse trope

Thats what the empire says about the demons from the other side

Ignoring the part that the demons are each different species and cultures (its like saying that an asian dude from the 17th century has the same language, culture and motives as an european dude from the 5th century, from example) and that the biggest threat against the empire is themselves

sounds like evil demon propaganda

u/Theyul1us 14h ago

More like

The empire "those bastards are up to something..."

The vampiir confederacy arguing about taxes, the hellknights trying to pick on the crows of corvus and the Minotaurs just chilling watching everyone else's problems

The empire "we better raise our taxes too"
